On Google, 18 reviewers of the residential program contributed to an average rating of 4.6 out of five stars.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1">[1]</a></small> Most alumni focused on the effectiveness of treatment. </p> <p>Five-star reviewer Joseph wrote in a representative review: “The staff here are great. They will get to the root of your problems, help you solve those problems and put you on the path to recovery.” Two reviewers of the outpatient program<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-2">[2]</a></small> and 24 reviewers of the veterans program<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-3">[3]</a></small> offered similarly positive feedback on Google.</p> <p>Like those on Google, 42 reviewers gave an average 4.7 stars on First Steps' Facebook page, which the facility can manage.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-4">[4]</a></small> “This is the place for positive life change! The Staff here truly care and are very professional,” wrote alum Adam in a representative review.</p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>To date, two loved ones who responded to a Rehabs.com poll gave low ratings for the facility overall. Both reviewers indicated that their loved ones relapsed following treatment and that neither would recommend treatment at First Step. “To fast to discharge patients, think the patient should have spent longer,” wrote one anonymous reviewer. The other commented: “I think that it was to relaxed."</p> <p>The two reviewers did, however, give more positive ratings to categories such as connectivity, cleanliness, treatment of co-occurring disorders, and affordability. </p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>First Step works with civic and private organizations to provide financial assistance for those with little or no income. Medicaid is accepted for outpatient clients. According to a <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/UT17.pdf" target="_blank">2017 SAMHSA survey</a>, 46 percent of treatment facilities in Utah accept Medicaid.</p> <p><small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1">[1]</a> <a href="https://www.google.com/search?ei=0pTtW5_lCoeOggeZ45eIDw&q=First%20Step%20House%20Salt%20Lake%20City%2C%20UT&oq=First+Step+House+Salt+Lake+City%2C+UT&gs_l=psy-ab.3..0i7i30j0j0i7i30l2.11759.11759..12216...0.0..0.77.77.1......0....1..gws-wiz.DfVOWi5VMM8&npsic=0&rflfq=1&rlha=0&rllag=40751052,-111894970,3400&tbm=lcl&rldimm=7375081788629167124&lqi=CiNGaXJzdCBTdGVwIEhvdXNlIFNhbHQgTGFrZSBDaXR5LCBVVCIDiAEBWhIKEGZpcnN0IHN0ZXAgaG91c2U&ved=2ahUKEwiU-9-n39beAhWIZd8KHVYKBfAQvS4wB3oECAAQHQ&rldoc=1&tbs=lrf:!2m1!1e3!2m1!1e16!3sIAE,lf:1,lf_ui:4#lrd=0x8752f44e24e22fc1:0x66598dcfd8b1ac14,1,,,&rlfi=hd:;si:7375081788629167124,l,CiNGaXJzdCBTdGVwIEhvdXNlIFNhbHQgTGFrZSBDaXR5LCBVVCIDiAEBWhIKEGZpcnN0IHN0ZXAgaG91c2U;mv:!1m2!1d40.7818019!2d-111.8750032!2m2!1d40.7203033!2d-111.9149376" target="_blank">GoogleReviews-Residential</a></small><br /> <small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-2">[2]</a> <a href="https://www.google.com/search?ei=0pTtW5_lCoeOggeZ45eIDw&q=First%20Step%20House%20Salt%20Lake%20City%2C%20UT&oq=First+Step+House+Salt+Lake+City%2C+UT&gs_l=psy-ab.3..0i7i30j0j0i7i30l2.11759.11759..12216...0.0..0.77.77.1......0....1..gws-wiz.DfVOWi5VMM8&npsic=0&rflfq=1&rlha=0&rllag=40751052,-111894970,3400&tbm=lcl&rldimm=7375081788629167124&lqi=CiNGaXJzdCBTdGVwIEhvdXNlIFNhbHQgTGFrZSBDaXR5LCBVVCIDiAEBWhIKEGZpcnN0IHN0ZXAgaG91c2U&ved=2ahUKEwiU-9-n39beAhWIZd8KHVYKBfAQvS4wB3oECAAQHQ&rldoc=1&tbs=lrf:!2m1!1e3!2m1!1e16!3sIAE,lf:1,lf_ui:4#lrd=0x4065fc9d3988889f:0x5a364c52e3d220ed,1,,,&rldoc=1&rlfi=hd:;si:6500467031049117933,l,CiNGaXJzdCBTdGVwIEhvdXNlIFNhbHQgTGFrZSBDaXR5LCBVVCIDiAEBWhIKEGZpcnN0IHN0ZXAgaG91c2U;mv:!1m2!1d40.7818019!2d-111.8750032!2m2!1d40.7203033!2d-111.9149376" target="_blank">GoogleReviews-Outpatient</a></small><br /> <small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-3">[3]</a> <a href="https://www.google.com/search?ei=0pTtW5_lCoeOggeZ45eIDw&q=First%20Step%20House%20Salt%20Lake%20City%2C%20UT&oq=First+Step+House+Salt+Lake+City%2C+UT&gs_l=psy-ab.3..0i7i30j0j0i7i30l2.11759.11759..12216...0.0..0.77.77.1......0....1..gws-wiz.DfVOWi5VMM8&npsic=0&rflfq=1&rlha=0&rllag=40751052,-111894970,3400&tbm=lcl&rldimm=7375081788629167124&lqi=CiNGaXJzdCBTdGVwIEhvdXNlIFNhbHQgTGFrZSBDaXR5LCBVVCIDiAEBWhIKEGZpcnN0IHN0ZXAgaG91c2U&ved=2ahUKEwiU-9-n39beAhWIZd8KHVYKBfAQvS4wB3oECAAQHQ&rldoc=1&tbs=lrf:!2m1!1e3!2m1!1e16!3sIAE,lf:1,lf_ui:4#lrd=0x8752f56b9864a04b:0x8ca2da2c07068a43,1,,,&rlfi=hd:;si:10133901994168322627,l,CiNGaXJzdCBTdGVwIEhvdXNlIFNhbHQgTGFrZSBDaXR5LCBVVCIDiAEBWhIKEGZpcnN0IHN0ZXAgaG91c2U;mv:!1m2!1d40.7818019!2d-111.8750032!2m2!1d40.7203033!2d-111.9149376" target="_blank">GoogleReivews-VeteransProgram</a></small><br /> <small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-4">[4]</a> <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pg/firststephouse/reviews/?ref=page_internal" target="_blank">https://www.facebook.com/pg/firststephouse/reviews/?ref=page_internal</a></small></p>
