Organic rankings ("top rated" lists)
State pages, city pages, and anything labeled "top rated" rank facilities by a
data-quality score with no paid component:
- Profile completeness — treatment philosophy, program details, settings,
specializations, highlights, and staff information each add weight.
- Rating signal — verified TopRatedRehabs reviews count first; facilities with
5+ verified reviews are scored on that first-party rating. Otherwise the licensed historical
rating (labeled) is used at lower weight.
- Review volume — more independent reviews add confidence weight.
General search results
In general search (not "top rated" lists), facilities with flat-fee VIP subscriptions appear
first and are labeled VIP or
. Within each tier, ordering is by the same
data-quality score.
What never affects rankings
- Payment of any kind, in organic "top rated" lists.
- Review suppression or purchased reviews (prohibited).
- Our own commercial relationships — advertisers get placement, never ratings.
