<p><strong>ABOUT SAVANNAH MISSION BIBLE TRAINING CENTER</strong></p> <p>Located in Savannah, Ga., the Savannah Mission Bible Training Center is a <strong>faith-based</strong>, non-profit treatment center. It provides <strong>long-term residential treatment for adults</strong> struggling with substance abuse. Medically supervised detox is not available on-site.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Upon admission, clients undergo blood tests and a pregnancy test, if applicable. Treatment starts with an interview to assess the client's current state before the highly structured treatment program begins. The Savannah Mission Bible Training Center is a <strong>Christian, non-denominational treatment program</strong>. It provides treatment to adult men and women over the age of 18, though <strong>younger clients may be accepted on a case-by-case basis</strong>.</p> <p>In general, clients are immersed in the philosophies and practices of Christianity. Throughout treatment, clients may attend Bible study classes, worship services, and spiritual counseling sessions. The program consists of <strong>four different phases</strong>, each lasting two months, depending on the individual client's needs.</p> <p>The first phase is a two-month long introductory period, where clients are expected to become oriented with the facility's rules while learning about Christ and the tenants of Christianity. Clients have limited responsibilities during this time. </p> <p>The <strong>second and third phases</strong> increases household responsibilities, including cleaning and cooking, to encourage clients to live in a normalized environment while improving self-esteem and work ethic. During this time, clients can make phone calls to family, or have them visit. </p> <p>The <strong>fourth phase</strong> is where the client become a mentor and counsel new residents of the program. If successful, clients may be offered the chance to attend an additional 10- to 12-month long staff training program.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>According to the facility's website, most of the staff are unpaid volunteers or missionaries who have already completed the discipleship training program. The program's Executive Director is a reverend. </p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>Clients are expected to share in cleaning and cooking responsibilities for the program. No other additional details are provided about accommodations; however, the single alumni polled by Rehabs.com to date gave the facility two out of five stars for its accommodations and amenities. </p> <p>Clients are required to have booked a return ticket home upon admission. Any legal or health problems need to be addressed before admission into the residential program. Although communication with family is allowed starting in the second phase of the program, contact with friends is not allowed throughout the duration of the program. </p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>At the time of this writing, one alum has submitted feedback for the Savannah Mission Bible Training Center to Rehabs.com. The review was negative. Teresa gave the facility one out of five stars for its meals and nutrition, its holistic offerings, its visitation policy, its available counseling options, its staff's level of training and experience, and the level of respect staff demonstrated toward clients.
