ABOUT GEORGIA REGIONAL HOSPITAL - SAVANNAH

Georgia Regional Hospital at Savannah (GHRS) is one of 20 health facilities operated by the state. The facility provides residential treatment for adult Georgia residents with mental and behavioral health disorders, including substance abuse disorders, through its three care units.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The treatment process at Georgia Regional Hospital at Savannah (GHRS) begins with a series of initial assessments to determine the specific needs of each client. Depending on their needs, prospective clients may enroll in one of the three separate care units. The Adult Acute Care Unit emphasizes stabilization, treatment, and discharge, the Secure Care Unit is geared towards those involved in the criminal justice system, and the Recovery Care Unit focuses on helping clients develop sober living skills.

Along with medication management, counseling and other evidence-based treatment approaches, the treatment process focuses on a combination of holistic and experiential therapies. Music and art therapies are a common part of the treatment process.

To facilitate treatments more effectively, social workers provide case management services for clients. Social workers also help clients set realistic goals with treatment centered around arts and crafts, music, and other recreational activities. In addition, social workers help clients coordinate aftercare planning for any additional required treatment.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

GHRS's psychiatrist-led treatment teams include a psychologist, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, health service technicians, a social worker, and an activity therapist.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

GHRS can host up to 101 clients between its three separate care units.
