<p><strong>ABOUT TURTLE CREEK RECOVERY CENTER</strong></p> <p>Located in Dallas, Texas, Turtle Creek Recovery Center offers provides <strong>a short-term residential program, an intensive outpatient program, a supportive outpatient program, and case management services</strong> for adults seeking treatment for with <strong>chemical dependency and <a href="https://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring disordres</a></strong>. <strong>Detox</strong> is not offered on site, and <strong>new clients must be medically and psychologically stable before receiving treatment</strong>.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>The treatment process at Turtle Creek Recovery Center begins with an initial assessment to determine an appropriate level of care. Assessments are conducted on site Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., on a first come, first served basis. Clients are often referred from other facilities, but the facility accepts self-referrals. Clients are assessed for mental and physical conditions, as well as for other conditions such as a history of violent behavior, suicidal behavior, medical stability, and are actively seeking treatment. </p> <p>Typically lasting 14 days, the residential treatment program consists of a structured schedule of <strong>individual and group counseling</strong>. Clients also participate in <strong>educational classes</strong> on relationships, guilt and shame, substance abuse, and mental illness. Clients work on developing techniques for relapse prevention and receive life skills training.</p> <p>During residential treatment, clients are required to attend <strong>12-step meetings</strong>, which are held on site six times per week. Clients with a dual diagnosis also receive <strong>psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management</strong>. Once residential treatment is completed, clients may be referred to the recovery center’s outpatient programs.</p> <p>In addition to treatment, clients are eligible for <strong>vocational assistance</strong>. Clients receive basic training and guidance in finding and maintaining a job. Clients work with community resources to locate suitable jobs. Family participation is welcome in the program, although most of the clients are estranged from their families. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Turtle Creek Recovery Center is CARF accredited. Little information is available about the facility’s staff. However, the four former clients polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing submitting an average rating of three out of five stars for the treatment staff’s level of experience and training.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>Turtle Creek Recovery Center has a <strong>32-bed rehab</strong>, which offers residents room and board. During residential treatment, clients are required to keep their rooms tidy, make their beds, and perform daily assigned cooking and housekeeping tasks. <strong>The four individuals polled by Rehabs.com submitted an average rating of 3.25 out of five stars for the facility’s cleanliness and upkeep.</strong></p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The four former clients polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing offered polarizing opinions of the facility. While two survey respondents felt the program was generally effective, the other two were critical of the facility. </p> <p>The most unsatisfied alumni gave one out of five stars for the facility’s treatment effectiveness. They also strongly disapproved of its holistic offerings, counseling options, and its treatment for co-occurring disorders.</p> <p>However, the other alumni had varying opinions of the facility. Two of the alumni gave five out of five stars for meals and nutrition. One anonymous alum wrote: “Food was good, and the accommodation was OK.” </p> <p>Aside from this, the alum didn’t agree about the strengths and the weaknesses of the facility. Two alumni gave three stars for treatment effectiveness, while two gave only a single star. Alumni, in general, indicated that the program wasn’t effective. </p> <p>On Google, Turtle Creek Recovery Center received an average rating of 4.5 out of five stars from 13 reviews. <small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> Many alumni appreciated the affordability of treatment and the program’s effectiveness. In a representative review, alum Joshua wrote: “Place is good if you want the help. Most people who complain can go try to pay 30,000 a month somewhere then complain that you food was not up too par . Free and low cost treatment you should be grateful for the help.”</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>Turtle Creek Recovery Center does accept self-pay but provides services for free to homeless and other clients that qualify.
