<p><strong>ABOUT BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE PARTNERS OF CENTRAL OHIO, INC. - COURAGE HOUSE</strong></p> <p>Behavioral Healthcare Partners (BHP) is a <strong>private nonprofit</strong> that operates nine mental health and substance abuse treatment facilities in central Ohio. Courage House, which is located on a tree-lined residential street of Victorian homes, offers <strong>transitional living services to women</strong> ages 18 and older. It's one of 188 treatment facilities in Ohio (<a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OH17.pdf" target="_blank">46 percent</a> of all treatment facilities in the state) to provide treatment tailored to women. It's also among the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OH17.pdf" target="_blank">36 percent</a> of Ohio treatment facilities to accept criminal justice clients. </p> <p>BHP operates a similar transitional living facility for men, called <a href="https://www.rehabs.com/listings/bhp-of-central-ohio-inc-spencer-house-302782136/" target="_blank">Spencer House</a>.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>According to <a href="https://www.bhcpartners.org/outcomes" target="_blank">an audit conducted in 2017</a> by, among others, the Department of Justice, Courage House's programming is primarily built around <strong>cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)</strong>, with added ancillary services. In addition, a former client surveyed by Rehabs.com indicated that program used the <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/how-a-non-religious-journalist-makes-a-case-for-aa-in-2017/" target="_blank">12-Steps</a> but was not heavily faith-based.</p> <p>Behavioral Healthcare Partners, as a whole, provides <strong>case management services and mental health care</strong>. Residents of Courage House who require treatment for mental health concerns may receive referrals for psychiatric care, while case management may assist with located community-based resources, such as vocational training and educational opportunities.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Although there is no information available regarding staff credentials, the two alumni polled by Rehabs.com to date gave the facility a two and a three out of five-star rating for its staff's level of training and experience. One of these alumni, who participated anonymously, added: "The counselors need better training."</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>At the time of the audit linked above, there were 16 residents of the house. The audit also noted that the facility had three recreational areas, which included <strong>exercise space</strong> and a <strong>backyard.</strong> Residents also have access to laundry facilities. Both of the alumni polled by Rehabs.com to date gave Courage House five out of five stars for the facility's cleanliness and general upkeep.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>At the time of this writing, the two alumni surveyed by Rehabs.com gave Courage House mixed feedback. Both awarded the facility five out of five stars for its affordability and agreed that the house was well-maintained. "The house was beautiful and food was good," noted C.B. However, when asked, on a scale from one to five, if they would recommend the facility, both alumni gave a rating of just two, and the anonymous former client wrote: "Overall it does help but you must keep treating yourself when you leave."</p> <p>Courage House earned one five-star rating on Google<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> from Alejandra, who also wrote: "I like the quality of their work and care."</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>According to the facility's website, BHP accepts self-pay clients, offers <strong>sliding scale fees</strong>, and takes some <strong>private insurance</strong> plans.
