Carolina House also operates a separate center in Raleigh.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Carolina House treats eating disorders like anorexia, bulimia, and binge-eating disorder through <strong>structured therapies</strong> including <strong>12-step meetings, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).</strong> Interpersonal process groups will cover topics like personal empowerment, shame, and isolation. Clients will attend individual, group, and family counseling, <strong>yoga classes</strong>, art therapy programming, and <a href="http://www.rehabs.com/pro-talk-articles/a-look-at-the-research-supporting-mindfulness-in-addiction-treatment/" target="_blank">mindfulness</a> training.</p> <p>Residents at Carolina House will prepare their own meals, take care of the kitchen garden, and engage in educational grocery shopping. Clients will also learn about the science of addiction and relapse prevention skills.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>The multidisciplinary staff at Carolina House includes a physician, a psychiatrist, licensed therapists, family therapists, intake coordinators, registered nurses, registered dieticians, yoga instructors, and chefs.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>Carolina House is centered on 10 acres of secluded land. The farmhouse boasts plenty of outdoor seating, wraparound porches, and living areas with a fireplace and a TV. Up to 16 residents share bedrooms with twin beds and built-in bookcases and prepare meals in the fully-equipped farmhouse-style kitchen.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The sole alum polled by Rehabs.com at this time of writing would recommend the facility but gave a lukewarm three out of a possible five stars to Carolina House’s overall treatment effectiveness. The reviewer gave five out of five stars to meals offered at the facility and four out of five stars to the center’s accommodations.</p> <p>“I learned more what not to do than what to do, which despite how that may sound aided my recovery,” the anonymous reviewer commented. “But, I made my recovery of my own free will months after leaving.”</p> <p><strong>All six reviewers on Google praised care received at Carolina House, giving the facility five out of five stars.</strong> Reviewer Carly called staff “wonderful.” Three reviewers thanked the facility for saving their lives. “With the love and support of my CH girls i regained my strength and took another step forward. I have the tools and support to fight,” wrote I.G. in a representative review. <small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small></p> <p>On Yelp, one reviewer gave Carolina House perfect a five-star review while another left a one-star rating.
