<p><strong>ABOUT SYRACUSE BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE</strong></p> <p>Syracuse Behavioral Healthcare-Residential Services, located in Syracuse, N.Y., offers <strong>residential treatment, outpatient programs, and supportive community living services to individuals struggling with substance abuse.</strong> SBH utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to address the multilayered causes of addiction, and is amongst the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/NY17.pdf" target="_blank">514 (61 percent)</a> facilities in the state with a specialized track for individuals struggling with <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring disorders.</a> In addition, this is one of New York's just <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/NY17.pdf" target="_blank">30 (3.6 percent)</a> treatment centers with <strong>inpatient detoxification services</strong> available.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Along with <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/the-pain-of-addiction-in-the-family-how-counseling-can-help" target="_blank">family therapy,</a> SBH provides <strong>individual and group counseling</strong> sessions to educate individuals on addiction while focusing on behavior modification. Medication-assisted treatment and gambling addiction programs are also available.</p> <p>Upon admission, staff assesses a client’s psychiatric and physical state before developing an individualized treatment plan to meet clinical goals. For those who need it, SBH offers <strong>medically monitored detoxification</strong> to facilitate a safe and comfortable substance withdrawal.</p> <p>Individuals who require a supportive, medically monitored environment may be admitted into SBH’s Willows Inpatient Center, a 40-bed residential facility staffed by medical and counseling professionals. <strong>The average length of stay at Willows Inpatient Center is three to six weeks.</strong> Along with a daily schedule of therapy sessions and evidence-based treatments, residents are also exposed to alternative therapies such as acupuncture.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>According to the facility’s website, 228 employees are on staff accompanied by multiple doctors and executive leaders. <strong>Six doctors</strong> oversee the medical and psychiatric practices of each facility.
