Editorial Review

ABOUT MIRACLE HOUSE INC.

Located in central Wichita, Miracle House is a faith-based, private nonprofit that provides residential and outpatient treatment and transitional living facilities for women struggling with substance use disorder and dual diagnosis, as well as supportive services for at-risk children and adolescents. It's one of just six rehabs in Kansas that offer beds for residents' children, and one of 37.9 percent that offer dedicated treatment for women.

Since it was founded in 1992, Miracle House has been dedicated to combating social injustice. Its programs aim to serve poor and disenfranchised members of society, including those experiencing homelessness.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

All programs are faith-based, and reviews submitted to Rehabs.com suggest that the center sometimes uses the 12-Steps. As a faith-based program, clients may attend worship services, spiritual counseling sessions, as well as participate in Bible study classes and devotionals.

The main offering is a residential dual diagnosis program for women and mothers. There's also an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for women and families, and transitional living facilities for women who have struggled with homelessness or mental illness.

For adolescents and young adults (who are served at 24.7 and 34.6 percent of Kansas-based facilities, respectively), there are outpatient programs and permanent supportive housing for youth in crisis or coming out of foster care. Permanent supportive housing is also available for homeless individuals with chronic addiction.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

There is currently no information provided by Miracle House regarding its treatment staff; however, the two alumni polled by Rehabs.com to date gave the facility a two-star rating and a five-star rating for its staff's level of training and experience.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

There is currently no information provided by Miracle House regarding its living arrangements and related offerings, however, the two alumni polled by Rehabs.com to date gave the facility four and five stars for its cleanliness and three and five stars for its accommodations. The reviewers disagreed on the quality of the facility's exercise and leisure offerings, giving them a two-star rating and a five-star rating.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

Of the two alumni polled by Rehabs.com to date, one would recommend Miracle House and the other would not. The reviewers agreed that the center's treatment is strongly rooted in faith, and offers only mediocre treatment for co-occurring disorders, which received a two-star and a three-star rating.

However, the center's treatment effectiveness and holistic offerings received polarized ratings of one star and five stars, and the program's family participation and counseling options each received a two-star rating and a five-star rating. "I had tried other treatment facilities and miracles program for women had a different kind of care. It was very spiritual as is the women who work there," S.W. wrote. But K.F. complained of "disorganized and untrained staff."

Miracle House has overwhelmingly positive reviews on secondary sites at the time of this writing, with a 4.9 out of five-star average rating based on 50 reviews on Facebook (where the facility can manage its own page), and a four-star average rating based on six reviews on Google.[1] [2]

The reviewers repeatedly thanked the program's staff for helping them turn their lives around: "I did inpatient and outpatient here and can't describe enough how much my outlook on myself and my recovery has changed... And that all started at Miracles with learning to love myself and understand my disease," Kat wrote in a typical comment on Facebook.

FINANCING

There is currently no information provided on Miracle House's website regarding its costs, however, CiteHealth indicates that the center accepts Medicaid. The two alumni polled by Rehabs.com to date gave the facility a three-star rating and a five-star rating for its affordability.

[1] https://www.facebook.com/pg/rwmiracles/reviews/?ref=page_internal
[2] GoogleReviews
