<p><strong>ABOUT WEST FLORIDA HOSPITAL – THE PAVILION</strong></p> <p>Located in Pensacola, Florida, on the campus of West Florida Hospital, the Pavilion is <strong>a full-service psychiatric hospital for adults</strong>. Clients must be 18 and older and have a primary behavioral health diagnosis to be admitted. The facility offers both <strong>residential treatment and outpatient programs</strong>, as well as emergency evaluations and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT).</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Each client receives a <strong>comprehensive assessment upon admission</strong>, including a nursing assessment, a history and physical examination, a psychiatric evaluation, and a psychosocial evaluation.</p> <p>Treatment at the Pavilion utilizes <strong>evidence-based practices</strong> designed to teach clients how to manage their behavioral issues and take control of their lives. Modalities includes medication management, group therapy, individual counseling, pastoral services, and educational groups, as well as experiential activities such as <strong>pet, music, and dance therapy</strong>. Support and educational groups are offered for loved ones.</p> <p>Clients receive <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/extended-recovery-programs/" target="_blank">comprehensive discharge and aftercare planning</a>, which may include involvement in of the facility’s <strong>outpatient programs</strong>. The Pavilion offers both a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Outpatient care involves <strong>individualized treatment plans</strong> and therapy on weekdays.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>The treatment team includes physicians, psychiatrists, a psychologist, and licensed therapists. Two loved ones and a staff member polled by Rehabs.com rated staff's level of experience and training one, five, and five out of five stars.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>The Pavilion's <strong>73-bed facility</strong> appears to be a straightforward psychiatric hospital. While physically connected to West Florida Hospital, the Pavilion is its own separate treatment facility specifically designed for treating mental illness.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>While Rehabs.com has not yet received any reviews from alumni, the Pavilion received an <strong>average rating of 2.5 out of five stars on Google</strong> based on six reviews to date.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> Comments were mostly negative: alum Danielle described staff as rude and unprofessional, and alum Kimberly wrote: “Mostly all you do is watch TV or lay in your bed, staring at the ceiling. The other alum, who participated anonymously, wrote that while the food wasn’t very good, the staff was “very nice and they were helpful.”</p> <p>On Facebook, two reviewers to date rated the Pavilion two and five out of five stars.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-2"><sup>[2]</sup></a></small> Loved one Jenifer decried the facility's disorganization and cramped space, writing: "All of the confusion cannot be good for patients dealing with mental health issues because it was getting to the visitors. It's already stressful enough having family there, so a stressful check in process is ridiculous."</p> <p><strong>WHAT STAFF SAY</strong></p> <p>One of the Pavilion’s staff members was surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing and gave the facility positive feedback, including rating it a perfect five stars for the hospital’s overall quality of client treatment and its overall quality of executive management and leadership. “Good staff and good activity schedule,” the staffer wrote.</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>Certain private insurance plans are accepted for the Pavilion's inpatient programs.
