<p><strong>ABOUT CLEAN & SOBER STREETS</strong></p> <p>Founded in 1987, Clean &amp; Sober Streets provides <strong>long-term residential treatment</strong> to adult men and women struggling with substance use disorder and homelessness. Located in downtown Washington, D.C., the facility also offers an <strong>intensive outpatient program (IOP)</strong> for clients who have recently completed a 30-day residential treatment program. Clean &amp; Sober Streets is a private nonprofit facility, which make up <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/DC16.pdf" target="_blank">79 percent</a> of all substance abuse treatment facilities in Washington, D.C.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Treatment at Clean &amp; Sober Streets is <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/how-a-non-religious-journalist-makes-a-case-for-aa-in-2017/" target="_blank">12-step</a> based and utilizes a <strong>social recovery model</strong>. The residential program is divided into four phases and includes counseling, <strong>addiction education</strong>, art therapy, GED training, housing assistance, and transitional counseling. </p> <p>Clients are required to attend <strong>12-step meetings</strong>; daily Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) are held on-site. During the final phase of treatment, clients are encouraged to <strong>find employment</strong> or participate in outside education or vocational training. <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/how-addiction-can-interfere-with-your-job-performance/" target="_blank">Job training guidance</a> is provided.</p> <p>The <strong>IOP lasts three months</strong> and is available to clients who have recently completed a residential program. Treatment includes both one-on-one and group counseling.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>There is currently no information provided by the facility regarding its treatment staff, however the sole alum polled by Rehabs.com to date gave Clean &amp; Sober Streets five out of five stars for its staff support.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>The <strong>120-bed residential facility</strong> is described on the facility's website as "no frills" and is located on the second floor of a 30,000-square-foot space donated by the city. All <strong>clients are assigned chores</strong> and are responsible for managing and maintaining the residence. The one alumni surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave Clean &amp; Sober Streets four out of five stars for its accommodations and amenities.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>V.M.B.S., the one former client polled by Rehabs.com to date, gave Clean &amp; Sober Streets a mostly positive review, awarding the facility four or five out of five stars for its cleanliness, its exercise options, its frequency and consistency of meetings, and its member empowerment and safety. The reviewer indicated that they stayed in treatment for more than 90 days and noted: "Since leavin ther im 14yrs sober &amp; still active in the facility.."</p> <p>On Google, Clean &amp; Sober Streets received an average rating of <strong>4.8 out of five stars</strong> based on six reviews.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> Larry, the one alum to leave commentary, wrote: "I went to CSS, it changed my life. It feels good to be clean and sober."</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>All treatment services at Clean &amp; Sober Streets are <strong>free of charge</strong>.
