<p><strong>ABOUT LIFE CHOICES- SAN JOSE, CA</strong></p> <p>Life Choices, located in San Jose, Ca., offers a <strong>sober living home and residential treatment to adult men and women struggling with substance abuse</strong>. Located next to Watson Park and Miguelita Creek, this sober living home provides a supportive drug-free environment for clients to work on recovery. </p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>The facility’s treatment program follows the <strong>12-Steps</strong> and encourages participants to remain at the facility as long as needed until all 12-steps are completed. Most clients remain in treatment anywhere from <strong>one to six months</strong>, though some stay longer. In order to be admitted, clients must have at least <strong>24 hours of sobriety</strong>. Upon entry to the program, clients receive a list of guidelines that must be followed at the home. The guidelines are intended to ensure a drug-free, safe, and healthy environment at the home. </p> <p>The home follows a structured daily routine while teaching clients strategies to deal with personal challenges that they will face while abstaining from drugs or alcohol. Clients will receive <strong>weekly random drug and alcohol testing</strong> using a breathalyzer and urinalysis to verify sobriety during their stay. </p> <p>Throughout treatment, clients are obligated to attend all meetings as well as any activities organized inside or outside the house. Participants will be required to work outside the house on weekdays with supervision and instruction from staff. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>The staff at the facility are recovering addicts who have all maintained long-term sobriety. There are always two or more on-site managers available at the home at all times to assist clients in any way necessary. </p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>The facility offers <strong>31 beds</strong> for male and female clients in a residential setting. According to the facility’s website, the home is fully furnished and equipped with cable television, Wi-Fi internet, a telephone, and more to increase the client’s comfort while in treatment. There are also additional amenities for clients to enjoy including weights and workout equipment on site. </p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>At the time of this writing there has been one alum polled by Rehabs.com. The alum had a very negative experience at the facility. Alum C.H. was not happy with the treatment offered at Life Choices. The alum gave the facility one out of five stars for treatment effectiveness and three stars for meals & nutrition. C.H., who’s between 18 and 25 years old, entered rehab for substance abuse based on the referral from a friend or family member. C.H. stayed for less than 14 days, didn’t complete treatment successfully, didn’t enter sober living after leaving the facility. C.H.. has been out of the facility for over 12 months. The client disagreed that it was worth the cost adding that “There was no treatment at all. You just sat at the house and watched tv or used your laptop in your room.” C.H. did relapse after leaving the program and didn’t reenter the facility. The alum added additional commentary stating, “This place is a total SCAM!!! Don't go here unless you want to watch the staff nod out all day and nod out in the middle of their own sentence!..It's a total scam and I would NOT recommend this place to anyone!!!”</p> <p><strong>On the facility’s Google Reviews page there is an overall rating of 4.2 out of five stars based on 13 total reviews</strong>.<small class="footnote"><a href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> Alum J.M., who gave five stars, was very pleased with the facility. He wrote “I found life choices and was referred to red road recovery. I stayed with them for 90 days. 30 days in detox inpatient and 60 days in the sober living house.. I had a great experience and have been able to use the tools I learned to stay clean.” T.N., another alum, supported that viewpoint. He gave five stars.</p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong> </p> <p>At the time of this writing there have been no friends or family members polled by Rehabs.com. On the facility’s Google Reviews page loved one M.F. gave five stars and wrote that he was very pleased with the staff at the facility. “My daughter was not doing well with Bi-polar. Too many different meds and nothing in her life was working...the staff understood where she was at and took her under their wings and after a short period of time she was flying on her own.”</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>The cost of treatment at the facility is not published but the facility’s website reports that their fees are competitive with other homes in San Jose.
