ABOUT A. LUJAN RECOVERY PROGRAM

A. Lujan Recovery Program in Fresno, Calif. provides safe, alcohol- and drug-free sober living environments for men involved in different levels of treatment. The program works with the drug court system and provides a wide array of services that blend 12-Step with evidence-based practices. It is one of just 695 (48.6 percent) centers in the state with gender-specific treatment programming for men.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The A. Lujan Recovery Program encourages residents to develop a new, sober way of living that fosters better health and a successful future. Clients live in a sober, supportive familial environment for a length of time that depends on each individual's needs.

Life in the sober living program involves community-based support groups, spiritual resources, 12-step meetings, and other self-help groups. Meeting attendance is monitored as a guideline of living in the home. There is also a program designed for family members and friends of residents.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

Currently, A. Lujan Recovery Program's website provides no information regarding the training and experience of its staff team. However, each home is supervised by a "house parent" who has been in recovery for a significant period of time, oversees the homes, and receives training in the recovery field.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Each resident must adhere to house rules. Pictures on the facility's website show multiple homes with communal living rooms, backyards, and one with an outdoor pool. Residents are responsible for providing their own food and preparing meals and completing household chores. Clients can participate in group outings, fishing trips, sporting events, retreats, and recovery conventions.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

While Rehabs.com has yet to receive reviews from alumni of the facility, reviewers on secondary sites have provided mixed feedback at the time of this writing. On Google, three users produced two one-star ratings and one five-star rating.[1] While the five-star reviewer left no feedback, one-star reviewer T.H. complained of strict rules and wrote: "The houses are too small, the floors too creaky, and the walls too thin for 10 or more people."
