<p><strong>ABOUT THE LIVING CENTER</strong></p> <p>The Living Center, located in Fresno, Calif., is a full service recovery and mental health services facility. Offering inpatient, outpatient, online counseling, and in-home treatment, the Living Center treats adults and adolescents with drug and alcohol addiction. It is one of three facilities under the Living Center’s umbrella.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>The Living Center believes a holistic, systematic approach addresses the physical, psychological, social and spiritual aspects of addiction. An inpatient and outpatient center, the Living Center offers addiction education, legal counseling, detoxification, family and individual counseling, vocational training, parenting skills, group exercises and interaction, recreation therapy and relapse prevention training. It also uses <strong>the 12-Steps</strong>, <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/CA16.pdf" target="_blank">one of 1119 facilities (78 percent) in California to do so</a>.</p> <p>According to its web site, the “basic premise for the program is <strong>‘The Rational Recovery Model’</strong> which involves directly learning the skills of planned abstinence in a sober living environment.”</p> <p>The staff works to include other family members and significant others in its treatment processes. <strong>Programs vary from 28 to 90 days</strong> depending on the needs and progress of the client.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>The staff at the Living Center is comprised of a house manager, licensed counselors, administrative staff and a senior resident. Much of the staff are also in recovery.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>The Living Center’s residential home holds a maximum of 16 residents. Bedrooms, which have twin beds and storage space, are shared. Clients have access to a common area as well as a television.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>To date, no alumni have submitted reviews to Rehabs.com.</p> <p>On Yelp, a single reviewer offered five stars.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> The alum wrote, “The Living Center is one of the best residential rehabs I have seen in Fresno. The counselors know their stuff and take the time to listen. It's a positive environment for change. Don't hesitate to get help if you have an addiction!”</p> <p><strong>WHAT STAFF SAY</strong></p> <p>At time of writing, one staff member left a mixed but generally positive review of The Living Center. They awarded high ratings for the facility's holistic offerings, treatment effectiveness, and accommodations and amenities. The staff commented on the "friendly staff" and the employee community, but noted that the facility was in a "bad area of town."</p> <p>On Yellowpages, a single employee left two stars.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-2"><sup>[2]</sup></a></small> “As an employee at The Living Center in Fresno I discovered it was NOT licensed at the time,” the employee wrote. “Troy Doorman refused to pay me.
