<p><strong>ABOUT MMHI - MENDOTA JUVENILE TREATMENT CENTER- MADISON, WI</strong></p> <p>Mendota Mental Health Institute (MMHI) - Mendota Juvenile Treatment Center (MJTC), located in Madison, Wisc., is one of <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/WI17.pdf" target="_blank">54 facilities in Wisconsin</a> with services specifically for adolescents. MJTC provides <strong>residential treatment to violent juvenile boys referred from the Department of Corrections in the state of Wisconsin</strong>. </p> <p>MMHI provides <strong>forensic treatment services to male clients</strong> including court-ordered mental health competency evaluations, treatment to competency services, and treatment for individuals not found guilty of criminal activity by reason of mental illness. To coordinate the facility’s treatments, it uses a point-based system. Clients receive points based on milestones and good behavior. MJTC provides academic services to help clients continue to learn and stay on track with their peers. Throughout their stay, family involvement is encouraged to help clients change their behaviors. <strong>Parents or guardians receive program and treatment review reports</strong> regarding the client’s stay, as well as support services to prepare to help clients transition out of the treatment program. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>The treatment team at MJTC includes <strong>psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers</strong>. Clients may also work with volunteers and administrative staff, as well as other clients in group settings. Clients in the MAT program work with a trained medical specialist to administer and monitor medications. Visits must be scheduled 24 hours in advance and only during set visiting hours on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. </p> <p>During their stay, clients have access to behavioral, mental, and medical health specialists. The anonymous loved one gave a very negative review of the facility including two out of five stars for its exercise and leisure opportunities, holistic offerings, and the level of family participation.
