ABOUT TRINITY SPRINGS PAVILION FOR PSYCHIATRIC SERVICES

Part of JPS Health of Fort Worth, Texas, Trinity Springs Pavilion for Psychiatric Services offers short-term inpatient care for adults and adolescents (ages 13 to 17) struggling with a primary psychiatric crisis, chemical dependency, or co-occurring disorders. To better serve its patients, Trinity Springs Pavilion treats adolescents and adults separately.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Upon admission, patients meet with a clinician for an initial psychiatric evaluation and behavioral health assessment, if applicable. Although Trinity Springs Pavilion primarily treats individuals struggling with a psychiatric disorder, Rehabs.com survey results indicated that the facility also treats chemical dependency. Treatment for chemical dependency may involve a combination of solutions-focused therapy sessions and educational classes on substance abuse, coping skills, and relapse prevention techniques.

Treatment for primary mental health concerns involves a structured schedule of counseling sessions, pharmacological intervention, and ongoing medication management. Counseling sessions address emotional regulation, stress management, and coping techniques. In addition, patients participate in a range of recreational activities, and daily outdoor recreation is highly encouraged. Trinity Springs Pavilion also partners with the Fort Worth Independent School System to provide academic support for adolescent patients.

As a short-term, hospital-based inpatient program, the goals of treatment are crisis intervention, rapid stabilization, and referring patients to a less restrictive level of care. Along with the inpatient care of Trinity Springs Pavilion, JPS Health also operates an on-site partial hospitalization program, as well as outpatient-based services through associated clinics.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

Trinity Springs Pavilion for Psychiatric Services employs a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, social workers, case managers, chaplains, licensed chemical dependency counselors, social workers, nurse practitioners, and psychiatric technicians. The three individuals polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing all submitted a rating of four out of five stars for the treatment staff’s level of experience and training.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Trinity Springs Pavilion offers patients a structured, clinical environment and 24/7 access to medical attention. The facility features a 64-bed adult unit and 16-bed adolescent unit. According to the facility’s website, the adolescent unit offers eight semi-private bedrooms and two common areas for group activities. The Pavilion also features three outdoor courtyards to provide outdoor recreational opportunities.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

At the time of this writing, the two alumni polled by Rehabs.com offered mixed opinions concerning the facility. One alum submitted a four- out of five-star rating for the facility’s counseling options, but rated treatment effectiveness only three out of five stars and disagreed when asked if the program was worth the cost. The client noted that facility relied too heavily on medications and felt physicians were overworked. Family participation and discharge planning received only two out of five stars from this former client.

The other alum disagreed, offering a rating of four out of five stars for the facility’s discharge planning. “Aftercare program is excellent,” they wrote, possibly alluding to the hospital’s outpatient clinics. The alum also gave five-star ratings for the facility’s ability to treat co-occurring disorders, treatment effectiveness, and accommodations. The staff's advice was listed as a facility strength.

On Google, the facility received just 2.1 out of five stars from nine reviews to date.[1] Note, one of the negative reviews is for the surgical unit of a nearby hospital and not a part of the rehab program. Alum Joshua wrote, “My stay was exceptional and people should not be fooled by others who are pissed off.” Alum Rosie reinforced previously mentioned concerns about medication overuse, commenting, "not all meds prescribed to me were helping me but i felt that if i refused my meds then i would be kept there longer." Yet, ultimately she concluded, “im getting the right treatment now thanks to this clinic oh and we go outside and play sports and listen to music we had groups constantly that really help.”

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

To date, one loved one provided feedback to Rehabs.com. The loved one generally approved of the facility, offering four out of five star ratings for the level of family participation and its discharge planning. The loved one cited the facility’s cost and financial assistance as a major strength. “They take in patients who don't have insurance and come from lower income families,” they wrote. Although reporting that their loved one relapsed, they added, “I think they do an adequate job in treating addiction.”

FINANCING

The JPS Health Network accepts most major insurance plans, Medicaid, and Medicare. Uninsured or uninsured patients may receive financial assistance through the hospital’s JPS Connection program, which offers assistance for treatment costs.

[1] https://goo.gl/fx9mMw
