ABOUT GATEWAY REHAB – GREEN TREE

In operation since 1972, Gateway Rehab offers a full continuum of addiction treatment for adults and adolescents through its 18 facilities in Pennsylvania and Ohio. Gateway Rehab Green Tree, one of four Pittsburgh facilities, provides outpatient programs for individuals struggling with addiction. The Green Tree location does not offer on-site detoxification.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Gateway Rehab Green Tree provides three specialized programs to address gender- and age-specific issues commonly associated with each population. These include a gender-specific program track, an adolescent and young adults (ages 13 to 25) program, and a program for adults over 40. Before beginning treatment, clients participate in an initial substance abuse assessment to help determine if components of these specialized programs would be beneficial.

Gateway Rehab’s treatment approach combines 12-step involvement with evidence-based treatment methods, specifically cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Clients participate in one-on-one counseling and group process sessions to address the link between destructive thinking and addictive behavior.

Educational classes on coping skills and relapse prevention are also incorporated into programming. For clients recovering from opioid dependency, Gateway Rehab Green Tree offers medication-assisted therapy (Suboxone, Vivitrol, etc.).

In addition to therapeutic and educational components, the program incorporates Twelve-Step Facilitation (TSF) to effectively (and quickly) introduce clients to 12-Step. Using a standard manual developed by 12-step fellowships, this model of treatment offers clients an outline of 12-step principles and practices. Clients also attend 12-step meetings and become familiar with program literature. If a client is opposed to 12-step participation, alternative program curriculum may be available.

Morning and evening sessions are held five days a week to accommodate client schedules. To assist in aftercare and promote sustained sobriety, Gateway Rehab invites clients to join the network’s alumni association and utilize its own recovery mobile app.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The treatment team consists of master's level therapists, life skills coaches, behavioral technicians, and other administrative staff members. A consulting nurse and psychiatrist are also available.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

At the time of this writing, Rehabs.com has received three alumni reviews for Gateway Pittsburgh.
