<p><strong>ABOUT CROSSROADS - MENTOR</strong></p> <p>Founded in 1971, Crossroads is an organization that provides a full-continuum of <strong>outpatient behavioral and mental health care services</strong> for <strong><a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/is-my-child-just-experimenting/" target="_blank">children, adolescents, young adults</a></strong>, and their <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/the-pain-of-addiction-in-the-family-how-counseling-can-help/" target="_blank">families</a>. One of four locations in Lake County, Ohio, Crossroads' Mentor facility in Mentor, Ohio offers a variety of programs, including specialized programming for <strong>adolescents who are struggling with chemical dependency</strong>.</p> <p>According to a <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OH17.pdf" target="_blank">2017 SAMHSA survey</a>, 28.9 percent of rehab facilities in Ohio offer a treatment program specifically tailored for adolescents, while 22.2 percent offer a treatment program for young adults. According to a <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OH17.pdf" target="_blank">2017 SAMHSA survey</a>, 57.2 percent of rehab facilities in Ohio offer IOP.</p> <p>In both programs, treatment begins with an evaluation, followed by a combination of <strong>individual, group, and family counseling</strong>. Case management services are also available, which include <strong>coordination with juvenile justice services</strong> and other agencies and professionals, as appropriate. Crossroads also can provide transportation services if needed, a service offered at 57 percent of <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OH17.pdf" target="_blank">rehab facilities in Ohio</a>.</p> <p>In addition to substance use services, Crossroads offers psychiatric treatment for children and adolescents, <strong>a complex trauma and attachment program</strong>, a sexual trauma program, as well as programming for parents of children with emotional or behavioral disorders.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>According to the organization's website, Crossroads employs a multidisciplinary staff that includes psychiatrists, counselors, social workers, and mental health specialists.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>Though Rehabs.com has yet to receive any feedback from alumni, reviews on third-party sites from former program attendees were <strong>highly positive</strong>. Out of 14 metrics evaluated, the anonymous reviewer rated each either three or four stars out of five. Metrics included treatment effectiveness, the staff's level of training and experience, holistic offerings, family participation, and counseling options, among others. "I found counselors were really willing to work with entire family to help treat patient and substance abuse problem," the anonymous reviewer wrote.</p> <p>Secondary sites yielded <strong>mostly positive feedback</strong> from loved ones. On Facebook, 18 reviewers each gave five out of five stars. "I couldn't have asked for a better group of people! They are so kind, caring, and supportive," S.M. wrote in a representative review on Facebook. "My son has grown a lot in his time there."</p> <p>However, on Yelp, two out of three reviewers gave scathing feedback.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-3"><sup>[3]</sup></a></small> "They don't listen, move at a glacial pace and waste your time with no positive outcome," one of the two negative reviewers, T.K., wrote.</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>Crossroads' website indicates that the organization receives some funding from the Lake County Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services Board. The website further indicated that some fees were charged for services, though does not specify how much. Crossroads <strong>accepts public and private insurance</strong>.
