<p><strong>ABOUT COMMUNITY ACTION AGAINST ADDICTION, INC.</strong></p> <p>Based in Cleveland, Ohio, Community Action Against Addiction, Inc. (CAAA) is a community-based treatment provider that offers one of the state's <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OH17.pdf" target="_blank">234 (57.2 percent)</a> outpatient programs for adults struggling with chemical dependency. In addition to <strong>standard outpatient (OP) treatment and intensive outpatient (IOP) programming</strong>, CAAA also offers transitional housing and a medication-assisted treatment (MAT) program for individuals recovering from <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/why-are-opiate-addicts-so-hard-to-treat/" target="_blank">opioid dependency,</a> making it one of just <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/OH17.pdf" target="_blank">22 (1.7 percent)</a> facilities in the state with this offering.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Upon admission, clients are required to participate in an <strong>initial intake screening</strong> and provide records of recent psychological assessments, mental health evaluations, medical exams, treatment plans, and urinalysis tests. If a client is recovering from opioid addiction, they may enroll into CAAA’s <strong>medication-assisted treatment program</strong>, which is designed to help minimize withdrawal symptoms and curb opioid cravings. Depending on their needs, clients may be prescribed methadone, Vivitrol, or buprenorphine.</p> <p>Along with its medication-assisted treatment, CAAA also offers outpatient counseling and an intensive outpatient program, which includes <strong>individual therapy, group therapy</strong>, relapse prevention, art therapy, and <strong>case management</strong>. All counseling sessions are designed to be interactive and motivational.</p> <p>For male clients, CAAA provides <strong>short-term transitional housing</strong>. Housing is intended to be a stop-gap solution for men who require long-term care. During their stay, residents receive <strong>case management</strong>, participate in psychotherapeutic groups, and engage in individual counseling. Clients also receive <strong>ongoing medical screenings</strong> throughout the duration of their placement. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>According to the facility’s website, treatment at CAAA is administered by a team of licensed clinicians. The sole alum surveyed by Rehabs.com on staff experience to date provided three out of five stars.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>CAAA’s transitional housing unit can accommodate up to eight men at a time. During their stay, clients are given three meals a day. The facility is intended to provide temporary housing, so clients can expect basic amenities.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>When asked how likely he was to recommend CAAA to others, Chris, the sole alum polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing, provided a rating of four out of five stars. “Works for me,” he wrote. He gave the program’s treatment effectiveness five stars, but submitted three-star ratings for the level of family participation and the center’s counseling options. Those who provided above-average ratings <strong>characterized the staff as helpful and reported personal success</strong>. “This place has changed my life!! Definately made the right decision to come to this place!” C.P. wrote in her five-star review.</p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>The single loved one polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing noted that they would not recommend CAAA to others. Offering two-star ratings for the facility’s staff support and its counseling options, the loved one described the program as “very mechanical.” They added, “Nothing handled on an individual basis to personalize treatment, group sessions are quite useless ... workers attitudes that they are better, smarter, and above the people seeking treatment."</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>CAAA accepts a range of private insurance plans, including those from Paramount, United HealthCare, Buckeye, and Caresource.
