ABOUT BRIGHTVIEW HEALTH

Located in Cincinnati, Ohio, and operating from three locations, BrightView Health offers multiple outpatient treatment programs, at various levels of intensity, to individuals struggling with substance use disorder. The facility also provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients struggling with opioid dependency. In 2017, 9,442 individuals were receiving MAT therapy in Ohio, making up 1.7 percent of individuals receiving MAT at a national level.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

BrightView Health requires clients to visit the facility in a semi-withdrawal state, which means abstaining from heroin, opioids, or alcohol for at least 24 hours. Over the course of six to eight hours, clients undergo a physical examination, a clinical assessment, a physician visit, a pharmacy visit, and (if applicable) observed dosing.

After the initial assessment, clients are referred to an appropriate level of care. All outpatient programming consists of individual and group counseling sessions. While the facility encourages 12-step participation, it is not mandatory for the treatment program. BrightView also offers family counseling, and holds recovery groups for pregnant women -- a specialty group offered by 20 percent of all treatment facilities in Ohio.

The traditional outpatient program provides the least intensive level of care and requires clients to attend one medical visit, one case management meeting, and one individual counseling session per month, as well as one group counseling session per week. Although similar, the moderate outpatient program requires clients to attend two group counseling sessions per week.

Clients who require more programming to maintain sobriety may be referred to the intensive outpatient program. IOP requires clients to attend three group sessions per week, as well as two individual counseling sessions per month.

BrightView also provides case management services to assist with employment, family issues, court/legal issues, and housing. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) includes administration of Suboxone, which is offered by about 38 percent of all treatment facilities in the state.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

BrightView Health employs a multidisciplinary team of physicians experienced in addiction medicine, licensed chemical dependency counselors, registered nurses, family nurse practitioners, and certified addictions registered nurses.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

J.A., the sole alum polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing, gave the facility mostly positive reviews and awarded BrightView Health five out of five stars for its staff's level of training and experience, its cleanliness, its affordability, and its family participation. When asked, on a scale from one to five, if they would recommend the facility, the reviewer gave a rating of five. "It's the best hands down," they wrote.

BrightView also received positive feedback on secondary sites, earning an average rating of 3.7 out of five stars based on nine Google Reviews[1] and a 4.7 out of five star rating based on the opinions of 36 individuals on its Facebook page[2] (which the facility can manage).

While there were a few outliers, including one former client who told Google he thought the facility's programs have gone downhill in recent years, the majority of former clients across both sites described the BrightView as a top-notch facility with effective treatment programs, caring staff, and helpful transitional services. "BrightView Health is the best addiction treatment center in ohio," Shawn told Google in a representative review. "They genuinely care and are there to help you not only with your addiction. They help with everything. They give resources with finding and job, going to school, housing, any kind of help you need they always have a solution."

FINANCING

BrightView Health accepts private insurance plans such as Aetna, Anthem, CareSource, HealthSpan, Molina, Paramount, and United Healthcare.
