<p><strong>ABOUT MCLEOD ADDICTIVE DISEASE CENTER – HICKORY</strong></p> <p>Over the last 40 years, McLeod Addictive Disease Center has grown to become one of the largest providers of drug and alcohol addiction treatment in North Carolina. It operates facilities in <a href="https://www.rehabs.com/listings/mcleod-addictive-disease-center-185913512/" target="_blank">Marion</a>, <a href="https://www.rehabs.com/listings/mcleod-addictive-disease-center-185917052" target="_blank">Charlotte</a>, <a href="https://www.rehabs.com/listings/mcleod-addictive-disease-center-185905422/" target="_blank">Gastonia</a>, Statesville, and more. Dosage hours are from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday through Sunday. It also <strong>offers buprenorphine assessments</strong> from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., Monday through Thursday.</p> <p><strong>Outpatient services</strong>, for both adults and adolescents, are available in the mornings and evenings at three different lengths: 20-, 40-, or 90-hour programs, all running from <strong>six to 12 weeks long</strong>. Treatment includes <strong>individual counseling, gender-specific group counseling,</strong> and an <strong>introduction to 12-step principles</strong>. There’s a more expensive substance abuse intensive outpatient (SAIOP) track, as well as specialized programming for DWI offenders. Aftercare consists of group sessions for six to eight weeks.</p> <p>McLeod Addictive Disease Center as a whole also provides case management, DWI assessments, a 60-day drug screening/monitoring program, a 15-hour drug education course, a 10-hour program on soliciting prostitution, and a 12-hour cognitive behavioral intervention program that focuses on anger management and conflict resolution skills.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>There is currently no information provided on McLeod's website regarding its treatment staff. However, one alum surveyed by Rehabs.com rated the facility a perfect five stars for the staff's level of training and experience.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>One alum polled by Rehabs.com to date gave McLeod in Hickory mostly positive ratings of four and five out of five stars in metrics including connectivity, flexibility, and extracurricular options, though they rated the center's cleanliness only three stars. Another anonymous alum rated the center four stars for treatment effectiveness and wrote: "Very good staff."</p> <p>On Google, 11 reviewers to date rated the center an average four out of five stars, with two negative reviews, one mixed, and eight positive.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-2"><sup>[2]</sup></a></small> For the most part, alumni praised the facility for <strong>quality, compassionate care</strong>. I agree that it can very well change your life."</p> <p><strong>WHAT STAFF SAY</strong></p> <p>Four current and former employees on Indeed to date each rated McLeod in Hickory four out of five stars.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-3"><sup>[3]</sup></a></small> In comments, the employees admitted <strong>the envionment and workload was stressful</strong> but that <strong>working with other staff and clients were benefits</strong> of working there. A program manager working at the Hickory facility wrote: "There are really good caring people there who make a huge difference in the lives of the clients impacted. The benefits are good and you will grow as a professional in this job. The stress can be somewhat overwhelming especially after many years in this field."</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>According to the center’s website McLeod Addictive Disease Center is <strong>in-network with Cigna, Aetna, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina, and Medicaid</strong> and state funding may be utilized for select treatment services. The center provides a <a href="http://www.mcleodcenter.com/about-service-price-list/" target="_blank">comprehensive price list of its services</a> online but recommends that prospective clients call for more information.
