<p><strong>ABOUT TRUE NORTH RECOVERY SUBSTANCE ABUSE RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM</strong></p> <p>Just off Highway 17 in Ann Arbor, Mich., the True North Recovery Substance Abuse Program provides <strong>residential treatment for youths</strong> struggling with substance abuse. It is one of only <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/WI17.pdf" target="_blank">43 residential treatment facilities in the state of Michigan</a> and one of <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/WI17.pdf]" target="_blank">54 facilities with a dedicated program for adolescents.</a> Services are provided at a local youth center through Growth Works, a Michigan-based social services provider.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>All clients receive a <strong>comprehensive evaluation</strong> upon admission to determine the appropriate level of care.</p> <p>The True North Recovery Substance Abuse Program is designed to help clients develop the ability to <strong>understand and recognize the cycle of addiction</strong>, identify and define the underlying issues that contribute to their substance use, and <strong>develop strong recovery skills</strong> to prevent relapse. </p> <p>Treatment consists of three hours of <strong>substance abuse counseling</strong> a day, which is divided into two hours of <strong>group therapy</strong> and one hour of <strong>didactic addiction education</strong>. On the weekends, clients participate in addiction education workshops.</p> <p><strong>Family therapy</strong> is scheduled as needed, and a <strong>community-based family group</strong> is held once a week. Clients are given therapeutic home passes as they progress in the program to test out their newfound recovery skills.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>There is currently little information provided by the facility regarding its treatment staff. All meals are planned according to the USDA guidelines for Child Nutrition Programs.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>S.J., the one former client surveyed by Rehabs.com to date, gave the program a positive review, awarding it high marks across all evaluated metrics, including treatment effectiveness, exercise and leisure activities, family participation, and counseling options. </p> <p>"It was a great program," they wrote.
