<p><strong>ABOUT SPECTRUM HEALTH SYSTEMS, INC. – SOUTHBRIDGE</strong></p> <p>Spectrum Health Systems, Inc., which has numerous locations throughout Massachusetts and Maine, has been providing mental health and substance abuse treatment since 1969. The Southbridge facility, located in Massachusetts, offers <strong>outpatient-based</strong> <a href="https://www.recovery.org/topics/medication-assisted-treatment/" target="_blank">medication-assisted treatment (MAT)</a> to adults struggling with <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/why-are-opiate-addicts-so-hard-to-treat/" target="_blank">opioid addiction</a>. To be approved for same-day treatment, clients must be experiencing withdrawal symptoms and refrain from illicit drug use for 12 hours. In the case this is unavoidable, clients must provide proof of a prescription or a last dose letter.</p> <p>In addition to <strong>medical monitoring</strong> and daily on-site medication dispensing, the program includes individualized treatment planning, <strong>individual, group</strong>, and <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/the-pain-of-addiction-in-the-family-how-counseling-can-help/" target="_blank">family counseling</a>, and addiction education.</p> <p>Also available at the Southbridge facility is the <strong>Prevention of Abuse and Violence through Education (P.A.V.E.) program</strong>, a 40-week course for men with a history of physical abuse toward their partners. The program meets once a week for two hours, and aims to <strong>educate men about the consequences of abuse</strong>. The program also helps men identify and control violent behavior, take responsibility for their actions, develop effective coping skills, and learn non-violent ways to resolve conflict.</p> <p>When appropriate, P.A.V.E. can also help men gain sobriety, <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/how-addiction-can-interfere-with-your-job-performance/" target="_blank">find employment</a>, and improve their parenting skills.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>There is currently no information provided on the facility's website regarding its treatment staff.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>A.M., the one alum surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing, gave Southbridge mostly positive feedback. She noted that the program successfully helped her to get sober, and gave the facility four out of five stars for its counseling options. "Great treatment plan support system," she wrote. The alum also awarded the rehab four stars for its staff's level of training and experience, however she also noted that "some employees lacked understanding of the disease."</p> <p>On Google<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small>, the Southbridge facility earned an average rating of <strong>3.6 out of five stars</strong> based on six reviews.
