<p><strong>ABOUT HARRINGTON HOSPITAL</strong></p> <p>Harrington Hospital has offered alcohol and substance abuse treatment in South Central Worcester County since the 1980s. This facility, which serves adults 18 and older, provides <strong>intensive outpatient programs (IOP), a residential program, intensive outpatient program (IOP) services, a partial hospitalization program (PHP)</strong>, and <a href="https://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring disorder assessments</a>. This assessment is used to refer clients to the appropriate programs. Each client receives an individualized treatment plan.</p> <p>Treatment consists of individual and group therapy that is provided during the day and evening. Clients participate in therapy on a daily basis. Each client focuses on specific issues outlined in the treatment plans.</p> <p>Aside from therapy, clients participate in educational courses. These courses focus on coping and sober living skills. Anger management classes are available on an as-needed basis.</p> <p>For clients with legal issues, a DUI course is available. Clients learn about the legal implications of their substance abuse and can work towards reducing sentences through coursework. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Harrington Hospital’s recovery services staff includes a medical director, licensed therapists, psychiatrists, and nurses. In addition, there are Spanish speaking staff members available as well as interpreters. Various educational course instructors, including licensed DUI class instructors, may be present during treatment to facilitate services. </p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>The behavioral health unit at Harrington Hospital offers 14 beds, while the <strong>residential program offers 16 beds</strong>. The facility is clinical throughout with elevated security in key parts of the hospital. There is a cafeteria on site. Although little information is provided regarding the facility’s accommodations and amenities, the three individuals polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave the center’s exercise and leisure options either three or four out of five stars.
