<p><strong>ABOUT REFLECTIONS-COURT ALTERNATIVE PROGRAM (CAP)</strong></p> <p>Reflections’ Court Alternative Program (CAP), located in New Bedford, Mass., is a <strong>licensed jail-diversion program for adults</strong> facing incarceration related to substance abuse. The center also has groups focusing on addiction and recovery education, vocational skills and support, trauma, gender-specific topics, establishing healthy relationships, and continuing care in recovery. Medication-assisted therapy (MAT) is also offered. In Massachusetts, <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/MA17.pdf" target="_blank">11.2 percent</a> of clients in treatment facilities complete a MAT program. </p> <p>Clients cannot work during residential treatment and will only leave for medical appointments or required court appearances. Following residential treatment, case managers collaborate with clients during the community-based case management phase. Case managers provide transportation to medical appointments, counseling, and self-help groups, and assist with communication to the court.</p> <p>Support services are available for family members as well. This program is designed to prepare families to better support clients once they leave the treatment facility. During treatment, clients receive <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/how-addiction-can-interfere-with-your-job-performance/" target="_blank">job training</a> and assistance. This is only available in <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/MA17.pdf" target="_blank">103 (29.3 percent)</a> of Massachusetts’ facilities. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Reflections’ Court Alternative Program (CAP) employs case managers. Employment and family counselors are also on staff. The program works closely with law enforcement including parole officers and community service programs to coordinate ongoing services. </p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>During treatment, clients are unable to leave the facility except for treatment purposes. In these cases, transportation services are provided. The anonymous reviewer awarded five out of five stars for the center’s treatment effectiveness and indicated that they’d recommend treatment at the center with four out of five stars. “Caring staff who are committed to seeing people get into recovery,” they wrote. “Not much to keep people occupied during off hours. Need more options to keep people engaged, especially on weekends.” However, the loved one gave two out of five stars for its counseling options, three stars for its staff experience and training, and one star for its holistic offerings.</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>The CAP program is funded through the Department of Public Health’s Bureau of Substance Abuse Services.</p>
