<p><strong>ABOUT DEAN'S HOUSE</strong></p> <p>Located in the community of Haverhill, Mass., 37 miles north of Boston, Dean's House is a <strong>sober living facility designed for adult men</strong> who may benefit from a supportive, recovery-focused environment to assist in the transition from a primary treatment program to independent living. The transitional living facility does not provide on-site detoxification services. </p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Before admission into the program, applicants undergo an initial interview, followed by an <strong>in-person evaluation</strong>, to ensure the transitional program is an appropriate level of care and assess individual needs. According to the facility's website, <strong>applicant must be medically-cleared from a detoxification facility</strong> before admission, and prospective clients are subject to a urine test/breathalyzer upon admission. Typically, Dean's House recommends clients <strong>commit to a six to eight-month stay</strong> at the residence.</p> <p>Although Dean's House is not a clinical or medical facility, nor employs healthcare professionals or therapists, the residence does facilitate services to support its clientele, namely <strong>immersion into the 12-step model of recovery</strong>. Dean's House also facilitates <strong>weekly family support meetings</strong> each Wednesday to include <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/the-secret-to-stopping-addiction-in-your-family-forever/" target="_blank">loved ones in the recovery process</a>. Along with assisting clients to locate a 12-step sponsor, Dean's House also regularly invites guest speakers and alumni to the facility. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Dean's House was founded by men experienced in the 12-step process of recovery. As a peer-led transitional facility, supportive services are facilitated by peers and house managers of Dean's House. </p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>While no information is available concerning the sleeping arrangements and amenities of Dean's House, the facility's website describes the residence as offering a "safe/structured living environment." Clients adhere to a nightly curfew and are <strong>responsible for house-hold chores</strong>. Many loved ones praised the facility's staff and its support for family members.
