This is one of the only <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/MA16.pdf" target="_blank">59 (16.6 percent)</a> substance abuse treatment centers in the state with <strong><a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/is-my-child-just-experimenting/" target="_blank">adolescent-specific programming.</a></strong> In addition, it is amongst the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/MA16.pdf" target="_blank">210 (59.2 percent)</a> Massachusetts treatment programs with services for individuals with <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring mental health disorders.</a> </p> <p>Located in south Brockton, Mass., the facility is operated by High Point Treatment Center, which operates a psychiatric hospital and several other residential and outpatient facilities for adults in Massachusetts. This facility accepts both voluntary and involuntary admissions.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>During detox and residential treatment, medications such as Suboxone may be used to stabilize clients and facilitate withdrawal. According to the facility's website, "The I-MAX states that everyone is currently at their personal pinnacle of potential, doing the best that they know how to do, at any given moment in time." The approach aims to help people recognize and understand their spheres of personal influence, so that they can better negotiate and achieve their goals. </p> <p>Treatment also includes <strong>individual, group, and <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/the-pain-of-addiction-in-the-family-how-counseling-can-help/" target="_blank">family counseling;</a></strong> psychoeducational groups; case management; and <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/extended-recovery-programs/" target="_blank">aftercare planning.</a> Clients also complete two hours of schoolwork each day, under the guidance of contracted teachers.</p> <p>Outpatient care is available at four sites, in Brockton, New Bedford, Plymouth, and Taunton. Treatment includes individual, group, and family counseling, with an emphasis on family involvement, so long as it's appropriate. Other relationships, such as those with community institutions or schools, can also be incorporated into treatment as necessary. The Brockton and New Bedford sites also offer <strong>Suboxone and Vivitrol treatment</strong>. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Staff includes <strong>a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist,</strong> socials workers, nurses, and substance use counselors. The residential facility is staffed 24 hours a day.
