<p><strong>ABOUT CHASE BREXTON HEALTH CARE - SUBSTANCE USE TREATMENT</strong></p> <p>Located in Baltimore, Md., Chase Brexton Health Care offers a full range of medical care, as well as substance use treatment that includes an <strong>outpatient program (OP) and intensive outpatient program (IOP)</strong>. Also offering medication-assisted treatment (MAT), the facility is among <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/MD16.pdf" target="_blank">37.6 percent</a> of substance abuse treatment facilities throughout the state to utilize Suboxone.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>According to the facility's website, Chase Brexton Health Care offers care for substance use at its Glen Burnie and Mt. Vernon Centers. Walk-in service is available at the Mt. Vernon Center Monday through Thursday at 1:00 p.m.</p> <p>The facility provides <strong>screenings, evaluations, crisis interventions, psychoeducational groups, alcohol education programs</strong>, and referrals to more intensive programs. The center has 12-hour Alcohol Education Programs that consist of six two-hour classes. The program meets Maryland's requirements for people referred by a court. </p> <p>The <strong>IOP focuses on the psychological, physical, and social aspects of addiction</strong>. Upon admission, clients go through an intake evaluation, which is used to determine the appropriate care and treatment plan. Phase one meets <strong>three times a week for three-hour sessions</strong> and includes <strong>group and individual counseling</strong>. Clients typically attend for a minimum of <strong>eight weeks</strong>. </p> <p>The OP (called Traditional Outpatient Program or TOP at the facility), is phase two of the service. Here clients engage in outpatient group counseling two times a week as well as individual counseling. Group sessions focus on <strong>relapse prevention and <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/extended-recovery-programs/" target="_blank">aftercare planning.</a></strong></p> <p>The third phase includes weekly groups that provide a supportive and interactive setting. The focus again is on relapse prevention as well as sober living skills.</p> <p>The facility’s <strong>medication-assisted treatment (MAT)</strong> provides prescription medication, including Suboxone, Naltrexone, Subutex, and Vivitrol, which helps support the recovery process. Clients in MAT also participate in counseling and educational classes. In addition, the facility operates a <strong>Stages of Change OP</strong> for those dedicated to effecting change in their lives, which meets two evenings per week at the Mt. Vernon Center. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>There currently is no information provided online regarding treatment staff. M.T.L. awarded perfect five-star ratings for numerous metrics, including affordability, cleanliness, the level of staff experience. treatment. They also offered four stars for the likelihood they'd recommend the facility, as well as three stars for counseling options. On the opposite end, reviewers criticized long waits, lack of organization and communication, incompetent care, overbooked doctors and departments, and rude customer service. Of note, reviewer Bart on Google had good things to say about the center’s substance use services: “The most friendly and responsible health care Ive ever received.
