<p><strong>ABOUT MEDSTAR FRANKLIN SQUARE MEDICAL CENTER</strong></p> <p>A nonprofit hospital located in Baltimore, Md. since 1898, MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center offers <strong>residential and outpatient</strong> services through its Department of Psychiatry. Adults, adolescents, and children struggling with substance abuse and behavioral health issues are offered treatment. It is one of only <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/MD17.pdf" target="_blank">10 hospital inpatient programs in Maryland.</a></p> <p>Amongst it's numerous <a href="https://www.medstarfranklinsquare.org/our-hospital/awards-and-accreditations/?_ga=2.14666037.364070340.1539459662-443722121.1538788909" target="_blank">awards and accreditations</a> are accreditations from the Joint Commission Hospital and the Office of Health Care, Community Mental Health Unit. This facility operates under the MedStar network, which also has a location in <a href="http://www.rehabs.com/listings/medstar-montgomery-medical-center-addiction-and-mental-health-center-4051671605/" target="_blank">Olney</a>.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Details about the facility’s behavioral health services are limited. Outpatient treatment is available for any age group, while <strong>residential services are only offered to adults and adolescents</strong>. This is an "evidence-based tool designed to identify individuals who have the potential for substance abuse and to provide medical intervention through the use of peer recovery coaches."</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Treatment staff consists of <strong>nurses, psychiatrists, and psychologists</strong>. The single review from a loved one received by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing awarded five out of five stars for both the staff’s level of training and experience and the program's expertise in treating co-occurring disorders.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>Information about accommodations are not included on MedStar Franklin's website, though a review from the loved one of a former client gave five out of five stars for accommodations and amenities, meals and nutrition, and facility cleanliness.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>Rehabs.com has not received feedback from alumni of MedStar Franklin to date, but on secondary sites, response to the facility as a whole was mixed. On Google, 266 reviewers to date rated the facility an average 2.1 out of five stars. The anonymous loved one rated the facility a perfect five stars in all 15 categories surveyed, including treatment effectiveness, family participation, counseling options, and affordability. They wrote: “Attentiveness, prep for coming back to society, finding resources, citing addiction in every facet were all great. The staff was really accommodating and treated my brother like family. He was happy there...”</p> <p><strong>WHAT STAFF SAY</strong></p> <p>On Indeed, 103 current and former employees to date rated MedStar Franklin, as a whole facility, an average 3.9 out of five stars, rating it 3.5 stars in management and 3.9 stars in company culture.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-3"><sup>[3]</sup></a></small> In general, employees <strong>praised their co-workers</strong> and the communication between management and staff. A nurse wrote: "great place to work. great location. awesome coworkers. good benefits, amazing doctors. Always had what was needed to do my job to the best of my ability."</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>MedStar accepts private insurance and offers <strong>financial assistance to those who qualify</strong>. The facility’s website states that no one is turned away due to an inability to pay. The facility <strong>accepts Medicaid and Medicare</strong>.
