ABOUT SEASIDE BEHAVIORAL CENTER — NEW ORLEANS

Established in 2009, Seaside Healthcare LLC operates several locations throughout Louisiana that treat substance use disorder, psychiatric disorders, and dual diagnosis. The organization offers a continuum of care, ranging from acute hospitalization through several intensities of outpatient care.

The New Orleans facility, located in Algiers, accepts both voluntary and involuntary admissions. It is one of the 18 (11.5 percent) of Louisiana facilities that is an inpatient hospital; it also offers medical detox on-site, which about 10 percent of Louisiana centers offer.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

According to Seaside’s website, its continuum of care is built around “seven pillars”: assessment, plan development, crisis intervention planning, case management, rehabilitation, wellness and prevention, and finally, discharge planning and review.

Programming at this facility consists of medical detox, crisis reduction, medication management, and group counseling/education, with minimal individual counseling. The treatment team utilizes evidence-based and evidence-informed practices to help clients reach their coals.

Other centers in the Seaside network use mindfulness training and 12-step work indicating that these treatment methods might also be in use at the New Orleans hospital location. All clients leave with a discharge plan and a referral to further care.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

Seaside's website notes the treatment team includes psychiatrists. There is currently no further information provided by the facility regarding its staff’s credentials, however, the alum polled by Rehabs.com to date gave the center two out of five stars for its staff’s level of training and experience.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

There is currently no information provided by the facility regarding its living arrangements and related offerings; however, the alum polled by Rehabs.com to date gave the center five out of five stars for its accommodations and amenities, meals and nutrition, and cleanliness.

REVIEWS

The one alum surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave mixed feedback. The alum, D.D., gave the facility three out of five stars for treatment effectiveness and when asked if they would recommend Seaside.
