<p><strong>ABOUT ODYSSEY HOUSE LOUISIANA INC</strong></p> <p>Odyssey House Louisiana (OHL), located in New Orleans, La., was founded in 1973 with the mission to provide holistic and client-centered services for those with special care needs. During <strong>IOP</strong>, clients live in a residential facility while receiving treatment for <strong>up to four months</strong>. </p> <p>Throughout treatment, clients receive <strong>individual and group counseling, case management, behavioral and medical healthcare</strong>, and <strong>education</strong> on many life skills including job training, parenting, and childcare if applicable. Participants <strong>may take medication</strong> during their residential treatment but it is not directly administered by the facility. The medication must be brought in as a full 30 day supply prior to starting treatment.</p> <p>Adolescent treatment includes <strong>individual, family, and/or group therapies during the day along with educational instruction</strong>. H.S. stayed for over 90 days, didn’t complete treatment successfully, and entered sober living after leaving the facility. </p> <p>H.S. has been out of the facility for 6 - 12 months. The client agreed that it was worth the cost. H.S. didn’t after leaving the program and didn’t re enter the facility. He gave the facility’s counselors great ratings, giving five out of five stars for counselor respect for patient’s treatment preferences, counselor training/experience, and counselor availability.</p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>At the time of this writing there have been no friends or family members polled by Rehabs.com On the facility’s Yelp page there is an overall rating of 1.5 out of five stars based on three total reviews.<small class="footnote"><a href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> Loved one M.D., who gave one star, wrote that her loved one did not have a good experience at the facility. M.D. wrote that the facility is run poorly, isn’t clean, and that there is a culture of punishment rather than rehabilitation. “Horrifying, do whatever it takes to not send your loved one here as they are better off to keep using than to be in this place.
