<p><strong>ABOUT CONNECTIONS</strong></p> <p>Connections, formerly known as Schwartz Center, provides residential treatment to <strong>adults dealing with addiction and <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring disorders</a> like schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder</strong>. Connections is a part of behavioral and mental health network Bluegrass Comprehensive Services that serves 17 central Kentucky counties.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Treatment begins with a comprehensive assessment that lasts one to two hours and reviews mental health services received in the past. During the first appointment, a therapist will collaborate with the client to develop treatment goals and outline steps to reaching them. These goals will become the foundation for treatment, which includes <strong>individual, group, and family counseling</strong>. <strong>Peer support and case management services to help clients find employment and housing are offered.</strong></p> <p>Length of treatment depends on the client’s progress. <strong>Language translation services</strong> are provided at no-cost to the individual.</p> <p>A 24-hour helpline is available for support and appointments. One anonymous alum commented that there was “not enough support system in place for clients.” Rebecca added that while “Some of the group sessions were good” the program was “too strict.”</p> <p>“I believe the treatment center was fair, treated people fairly an did it's job in the recovery process,” another anonymous alum wrote.</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>Bluegrass Comprehensive Services accepts private insurance plans, Medicaid, and Medicare.
