<p><strong>ABOUT THE GUIDANCE CENTER</strong></p> <p>The Guidance Center (TGC) serves as a local community health provider for Atchison, Jefferson, and Leavenworth Counties in Kansas. Services include <strong>crisis assessments, referrals, and outpatient treatment</strong> for individuals struggling with substance use disorder and psychiatric disorders. Treatment modalities are determined based on an initial assessment each client undergoes, and <strong>include individual and group therapy</strong>. Families are encouraged to be involved. Also on staff are advanced practice RNs and <strong>certified alcohol and drug counselors</strong>, according to the facility's website.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The two alumni polled by Rehabs.com to date, both of whom participated anonymously, gave TGC mixed feedback. One awarded the facility five out of five stars for its treatment effectiveness and wrote: "It helps you shape your view of what wellness really is." The reviewer did note that the facility had to work within a low budget, however. The other reviewer described the staff as informative, well-educated, and caring, but noted that the environment felt "sterile inside instead of comfortable and relaxing." That reviewer gave the facility three stars for its treatment effectiveness.</p> <p>On Google<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small>, TGS earned an average rating of <strong>4.2 out of five stars</strong> based on 11 reviews. Of the eight former clients who left comments, six described the facility as a compassionate place that provided a solid option for treatment services. "The people have always been kind and very helpful... Therapists are awesome. Case managers are spectacular!" "Best place to come," Victoria wrote. "I had drug and alcohol classes there, they did an awesome job.
