<p><strong>ABOUT FREEBIRDS SOLUTION CENTER</strong></p> <p>Located in Terre Haute, Ind., Freebirds Solution Center provides <strong>affordable sober housing facilities for men and women</strong> living in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. The nonprofit facility opened in 2004 and operates a main residence, two men’s honors houses, and one women’s honors house with space for a total of 60 individuals. The sober living facilities are <strong>faith-based</strong>, though people who hold any spiritual belief are welcomed. </p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>According to the facility's website, residents must pass a drug screening at intake and are <strong>subject to frequent and random drug and alcohol tests.</strong> The program works with clients’ court orders and accepts recommendations from probation officers, prosecutors, and drug counselors. In Indiana, the facility is among the 32.8 percent of facilities to offer <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/IN17.pdf" target="_blank">specialized support for criminal justice clients</a>.</p> <p>Freebirds Solution Center services are available to clients with a desire to continue in recovery. The program is built on a <strong>12-step recovery model and the dignity of work</strong>. Residents participate in multiple recovery meetings, Bible studies, and 12-Step meetings every week. Attendance to Bible studies is encouraged but not mandatory. <strong>Employment skills support services are also available</strong>. In Indiana, the center is among the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/IN17.pdf" target="_blank">43.3 percent of facilities</a> to offer employment counseling or training for clients.</p> <p>Accountability, integrity, and compassion are also key values in the recovery maintenance program, and residents participate in both peer guidance and peer monitoring practices.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>There is currently limited information provided by the facility regarding its staff; however, according to its website, staff members practice the Christian faith and are in recovery. The sole alum surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave four out of five stars for the staff's level of training and experience. </p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>The center's website indicates the <strong>main residence is located in a historic former elementary school built in 1908.</strong> Photographs on the facility’s website indicated indoor spaces featuring comfortably and simply furnished living areas. <strong>Dorm rooms hold 13 beds each</strong>, with facility space for 60 total residents. An overnight visitation suite is available for residents with children.</p> <p>One meal per day is included in residents’ room and board costs. Assistance in finding employment is offered, and residents are also responsible for chores in the program. The facility includes a fitness suite and access to a garage and tools for auto repair. The building is wood-heated.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The single alum polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing provided positive feedback, offering four stars for the center's exercise and leisure activities, the level of family participation, the admissions and discharge procedures, and its treatment of <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring disorders.</a>.
