<p><strong>ABOUT LIFE TREATMENT CENTERS</strong></p> <p>Located in South Bend, Ind. and founded in 1971, Life Treatment Centers is a nonprofit facility that offers <strong>treatment to adult men and women</strong> who are struggling with substance abuse. Life Treatment Centers joins the <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/IN16.pdf" target="_blank">179 (66.4 percent) of other nonprofit treatment facilities operating in the state of Indiana</a>. While detox is available on site, <strong>detox is not medically managed</strong> and does not involve any medication. The Center also provides a variety of <strong>outpatient options</strong>, including specialized groups for women, veterans, and problem gamblers. Comprehensive <strong><a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/extended-recovery-programs/" target="_blank">aftercare planning</strong></a> is also a key part of the program.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>According to Life Treatment Centers' website, outpatient therapy combines <strong>group therapy with motivational and psycho-education lectures</strong> to provide clients with education about addiction and the effects it has not only on them, but on other their loved ones, as well.</p> <p>Clients learn how to <strong>develop appropriate coping skills</strong>, communicate effectively with loved ones, manage cravings, and more. The sessions for veterans is designed to address their specific needs. It also gives them the opportunity to share their experiences with other veterans, and offer support to others. </p> <p>The facility’s website notes community housing is available if a client feels that they need more structure and support. Alumni surveyed by Rehabs.com report that <strong>12-step methodology is also utilized</strong> in the program.</p> <p>Case management services are available, as well as a comprehensive aftercare for all graduates, which includes weekly group therapy sessions for up to a year.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Life Treatment Centers' website notes the detox unit is staffed 24-hours and always has physicians on-call. Other staff members include professional addictions counselors and therapist. The center also has veterans on staff who oversee the veteran groups. </p> <p>The three people Rehabs.com asked about the staff's level of training and experience gave three- or four- out of five stars. </p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The alum polled by Rehabs.com to date provided a positive review, and five out of five stars for treatment effectiveness. They gave four stars when asked if they would recommend the center, its treatment of <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring disorders,</a>, counseling options, and family participation. "the 12 steps, you got too want to quit to seceed," the alum wrote. </p> <p>On the facility’s unofficial Facebook page, Life Treatment Centers received an average of <strong>3.6 out of five stars</strong> based on ten reviews at the time of this writing. The two alumni who left feedback provided neutral to negative feedback. When asked on a scale from one to five if they would recommend the facility, they gave it a three. "Not enough in depth treatment to make an impact or change. Detox was good, but no long term effect," a loved one wrote in a representative review. </p> <p><strong>WHAT STAFF SAY</strong></p> <p>Rehabs.com has yet to receive any reviews from this facility’s staffers or former employees. However, the one employee who left a Facebook review for Life Treatment Centers gave five out of five stars. "treatment centers is a simple program for complicated people," they wrote. "I have seen many people come through the door one way and leave out never the same."</p> <p>Of the three people who left reviews for Life Treatment Centers on Indeed at the time of this writing, one staffer gave positive feedback, while the other two left negative reviews.
