<p><strong>ABOUT HIGHLAND RIVERS HEALTH - WOMEN’S OUTREACH RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT PROGRAM</strong></p> <p>With <a href="https://www.rehabs.com/listings/highland-rivers-health-bartow-recovery-and-wellness-center-1506661601/" target="_blank">numerous facilities</a> throughout <a href="https://www.rehabs.com/listings/highland-rivers-health-whitfield-recovery-and-wellness-center-2339938353/" target="_blank">northwest Georgia</a>, Highland Rivers Health offers a range of treatment services to individuals struggling with <strong>substance use disorder</strong> and/or mental health problems. It's Women's Outreach program, which is located about a 90-minute drive northwest of Atlanta in Rome, provides a <strong>residential treatment to adult women and their young children</strong>. It's one of only 13 substance abuse treatment facilities in Georgia (just <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/GA17.pdf" target="_blank">4.5 percent</a> of all treatment facilities in the state) to admit women with their children.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>The Women’s Outreach program is meant for chemically dependent women who are either <strong>pregnant, postpartum</strong>, or mothers of <strong>children ages 13 and under</strong>. The program is <strong>long-term</strong> and typically completed in <strong>six to nine months</strong>. In 2017, just <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/GA17.pdf" target="_blank">17.5 percent</a> of treatment facilities in Georgia offered non-hospital residential programming that lasted longer than 30 days.</p> <p>Following a series of <strong>comprehensive assessments</strong>, women take part in a range of treatment services, including one-on-one counseling, <strong>group therapy</strong>, <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/the-pain-of-addiction-in-the-family-how-counseling-can-help/" target="_blank">family counseling</a>, and addiction education. The program also offers <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/how-understanding-anger-revolutionizes-addiction-recovery/" target="_blank">anger management</a> and <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/sad-lets-talk-about-seasonal-affective-disorder-and-relapse/" target="_blank">relapse prevention</a> training, as well as HIV testing and education.</p> <p><strong>GED preparation</strong> and <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/how-addiction-can-interfere-with-your-job-performance/" target="_blank">employment readiness</a> training is offered, and the program is one of only 11 facilities in Georgia (just <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/GA17.pdf" target="_blank">3.8 percent</a> of all treatment facilities in the state) to provide <strong>child care</strong>.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>The treatment team at Highland Rivers’ Health includes a <strong>board-certified psychiatrist</strong>, a licensed clinical social worker, and a <strong>licensed professional counselor</strong>. To date, the sole alum polled by Rehabs.com gave the program four out of five stars for its staff's level of training.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>A major treatment goal at the Women’s Outreach program is to <strong>support each woman’s transition into safe and stable housing</strong>. Additional details on the program’s living arrangements and related offerings are not provided.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>J.S., the one alum surveyed by Rehabs.com to date, gave the Women’s Outreach program mostly positive feedback. The 40-to-59-year old, who stayed in the program for over a year and was treated for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, gave the facility five out of five stars for its cleanliness, and four out of five stars for its leisure activities, its staff support, and the quality of its lead counselor. The alum also indicated that they received the level of counseling promised to them prior to entry, and that the counseling options offered by the program successfully catered to their individual needs.</p> <p>On Google<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small>, the Women's Outreach program earned a perfect average rating of five out of five stars from four reviewers. "They helped me get my life together," wrote Sharon is a representative review. "So grateful for this place."</p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>Of the three loved ones polled by Rehabs.com to date, one gave the Women’s Outreach program a positive review, while the others gave the program mixed feedback. The positive reviewer, an anonymous 26-to-39-year-old female, awarded the facility four or five out of five stars for its family participation, its cleanliness, its staff's level of training and experience, its administration and discharge procedures, and its treatment of <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring disorders</a>. " They knew exactly what drugs and dosage to use," the loved one wrote.</p> <p>The two mixed reviewers noted that while the program did not seem to have any major red flags, both of their loved ones relapsed. One of the reviewers did note that the program allowed their cousin to bring her baby into treatment with her.</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>There is currently no information provided on the organization’s website or otherwise regarding its treatment costs.</p> <p><strong>CONCLUSION</strong></p> <p>In October of 2018, Highland Rivers Health opened a new women's residential program called <a href="http://www.northwestgeorgianews.com/rome/news/local/addiction-program-at-women-s-outreach-center-works-to-treat/article_ea2431a6-b939-11e8-b30a-f3d9d8852a9b.html" target="_blank">Mosaic Place in Cedartown</a>.
