ABOUT ANGEL HOUSE OF GEORGIA

The Angel House of Georgia is a residential substance abuse facility and is one of the only 144 (45.9 percent) in the state exclusively for women. Founded in 2011, the center welcomes women aged 18+, and frequently works with those involved in the court system, but cannot accommodate pregnant women.

The center does not offer medical detox, and all new clients must have not consumed alcohol or drugs within 72 hours prior to admission. Clients are tested for drug and alcohol consumption on the day of admission. In addition, individuals struggling with severe dual diagnosis are referred to another, more appropriate facility.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The program’s ethos views addiction as a disease, and aims to move women from active addiction back to productive lives in society.

The Angel House offers a structured, 12-month residential program that prioritizes working the 12-Steps, as do the majority (78 percent) of facilities in the state. This is incorporated so that residents can begin to take control of their own recovery. In addition, the facility partners with local organizations to provide services that further residents’ personal growth, job searches, GED completion, and college applications. During the course of their treatment, residents establish and work toward weekly, monthly, and life-long goals.

According to the facility’s website, many residents regain custody of their children and obtain stable employment after treatment.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

There is currently no information provided by the facility regarding its treatment staff; however, 98.3 percent of treatment facilities in Georgia have continuing education requirements for their staff.

The single alum polled by Rehabs.com to date gave the center four out of five stars for its staff’s level of training and experience.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

The center is an attractive clapboard family home, with traditional, understated, but comfortable decor. Bedding is not provided; clients must bring their own. Clients are advised that they must wear modest clothing during their stay.

The single alum polled by Rehabs.com to date gave the center five stars for its cleanliness and four stars for its accommodations.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

The sole alum polled by Rehabs.com to date indicated that they would recommend this facility. This anonymous reviewer listed "Price was affordable" as a facility strength but felt the fact that the facility does not "accept insurance" was a notable weakness. Still, this alum gave the center five out of five stars for its affordability.

The other ratings provided by this individual were mixed. Four stars were awarded for family participation, the facility's admissions and discharge procedures, and whether or not the treatment was worth the cost. On the other hand, only two stars were given for exercise and leisure options and holistic offerings.

At the time of this writing, secondary sites yielded mostly positive feedback. On Facebook (where the center can manage its own page), Angel House of Georgia had a 4.7-star average rating based on 18 reviews.[1] The reviewers repeatedly described their time at Angel House as a life-changing experience: “Changed my life taught me who I was and made me greatful to be greatful I love u all thank u so much for being there and believing in me even when I didn't believe in my self you all gave me the tools I needed,” M.L.N. wrote in a representative review.

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

Rehabs.com has yet to receive facility feedback from clients' loved ones. On Google to date, there is a single five-star review, and a single one-star review.[2] The satisfied reviewer simply commented, "good," while the dissatisfied user, the parent of a former client, complained of problems with payment, with staff, and with programming. This reviewer added, "parents aren't aloud to offer anything but a check."

FINANCING

This center does not accept insurance; private pay only is accepted. There is a non-refundable fee of $100 for local assessments as well as assessments conducted over the phone. If the client is accepted, they must pay an initial fee of $1,400, which covers an intake fee and the first month of treatment. Thereafter, treatment costs $200 per week.

[1]https://www.facebook.com/pg/angelhouseofgeorgia/reviews/
[2] https://goo.gl/WjoLZj
