<p><strong>ABOUT MEDICAL CENTER OF TRINITY - BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CENTER</strong></p> <p>The Behavioral Health Center at Medical Center of Trinity, in New Port Richey, Fla., treats individuals struggling with <strong>mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and addiction</strong>. Options include <strong>inpatient care, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), and intensive outpatient program (IOP)</strong>. Detox is not offered on-site.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Inpatient therapeutic programming emphasizes evidence-based treatments, such as <strong>dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT</strong>) to help clients regulate emotions, recognize personal needs, develop mindfulness, and better tolerate pain. Each day, clients attend <strong>individual counseling sessions with a board certified psychiatrist, group therapy with an experienced therapist</strong>, and various educational, medication, and process groups. The facility provides recreational activities, such as music, art, basketball, and outdoor activities. Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) may be used on patients with severe psychiatric illnesses who are medication resistant. </p> <p><strong>PHP clients participate in four groups each day</strong> to help understand and manage their symptoms effectively. They also receive monitoring and treatment from a psychiatrist and licensed therapist.</p> <p><strong>IOP clients attend sessions three days per week for three hours each</strong>. They participate in group therapy, focused on coping and assertiveness skills, and are seen by a psychiatrist. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>The Behavioral Health Center staffs a team of board-certified psychiatrists, registered nurses, licensed clinical social workers, licensed mental health counselors, case managers, and activities and recreational therapists.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>Although the Behavioral Health Center does not offer information regarding its accommodations and related offerings, clients can expect a clinical environment. The facility is a tobacco and electronic cigarette free campus, both inside and on the grounds. Three individuals surveyed by Rehabs.com to date rated the accommodations and amenities and meals and nutrition three, four, and five out of five stars.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The sole alum polled by Rehabs.com provided a mixed review of the Behavioral Health Center. The anonymous client offered moderately favorable ratings for some aspects of the facility, included four-star ratings for facility's cleanliness and upkeep and its counseling options. However, they noted it was not adequately equipped or staffed to treat <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring mental health problems</a> (two stars) and lacked holistic offerings (two stars). They listed the friendly staff as a strength, but wrote: βI was not properly treated.β In all, this individual assigned a two-star rating for likelihood they'd recommend this facility.</p> <p>On Google, to date, the facility received an average of <strong>2.9 out of five stars</strong> based on 57 reviews (alumni, loved ones, staff).[1] Most of the reviews pertained to the medical center as a whole and, as such, did not provide a definitive view of the behavioral health services. </p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>At the time of this writing, two loved ones polled by Rehabs.com gave <strong>mixed opinions skewed to the negative</strong> about the Behavioral Health Center. Both agreed that family and loved ones were able to participate in treatment through family programming (four and five stars). However, one agreed that the facility offered adequate counseling options (three stars) and the program was worth the cost (four stars) whereas the other one disagreed on both. </p> <p>The loved ones listed the new and conveniently located facility as a strength. However, both of them indicated they would not recommend treatment there, assigning two stars and three stars βIt's just bandaid treatment temporary help not a place for real help . complete waste of time for patientsβ and the other wrote: βnew. ok staff,β one loved one wrote. </p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>Medical Center of Trinity works with an extensive list of insurance plans including Aetna, Cigna, Humana, Multiplan, and United Healthcare. It also accepts <strong>Medicaid and Medicare</strong>.
