ABOUT CRESTWOOD BEHAVIORAL HEALTH – VALLEJO

Operating more than 20 treatment communities throughout California, Crestwood Behavioral Health provides a full continuum of services to help adult men and women struggling with mental health disorders, as well as co-occurring substance abuse disorders. Located in the beautiful city of Vallejo, in the North Bay region of the San Francisco, Crestwood’s Vallejo facility offers residential treatment for adults that focuses on wellness recovery, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and pre-vocational training.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

According to the facility’s website, programming at Crestwood is a largely self-initiated. Clients follow an individualized Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP), which is their guide as they progress through the structured levels of the program at their own pace.

DBT groups are held twice per week for 12 weeks. Individual therapy sessions are held weekly, during which time DBT homework assignments are reviewed. Weekly training classes, which last between two and five hours, focus on developing and improving mindfulness skills, emotional regulation skills, interpersonal effectiveness skills, and distress tolerance skills.

The program also offers a number of specialized peer groups, including ones for clients with co-occurring disorders, gender-specific groups, and women’s assertiveness groups. Clients with co-occurring substance abuse disorders also regularly attend AA/NA meetings.

Clients may also take advantage of on-site educational opportunities, as well as attend meetings with numerous faith groups that visit the facility on a weekly basis. Additionally, the Dreamcatchers Empowerment Network (DEN) was created to help those with disabilities find employment.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The center’s website indicates the treatment team includes registered nurses, a clinical director, a certified rehab counselor, a psychologist, and a campus administrator.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Although information concerning living arrangements is limited, the facility's website does state that clients live in a home-like environment and that a culinary specialist prepares meals.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

The one former client polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing provided a mostly positive review.
