To assist clinicians in developing an individualized treatment plan, clients participate in an initial assessment. The assessment also helps to identify any co-occurring mental health conditions that may be contributing to addictive behaviors.

Core programming consists of individual and group counseling sessions. NCRRC’s trauma-informed, evidence-based approach addresses past experiences that may be contributing to irrational thinking patterns and destructive behaviors. Counseling sessions are designed to promote self-awareness and help clients to identify and change these patterns and behaviors.

To assist clients in sustaining sobriety, the outpatient program also focuses on relapse prevention, life skills development, and education. Following a primary treatment plan, aftercare is offered through ongoing recovery support, vocational training, and linkages to community resources.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

CARF-accredited, McAlister Institute's North Coast Regional Recovery Center’s outpatient program is led and facilitated by a team of licensed mental health therapists, alcohol and other drug (AOD) counselors, and case managers. Job descriptions on the agency's website note that employees are culturally competent and bilingual skills are preferred. Ongoing staff training is also a priority. Alumni reviews received by Rehabs.com indicated that some treatment staff are themselves in recovery. The four individuals polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing submitted an average rating of 4.25 out of five stars for the staff’s level of training and experience.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

Two of the three alumni polled by Rehabs.com to date would recommend North Coast Regional Recovery Center to others. The third noted that they learned about the effects of drugs through NCRRC services, but that the facility was understaffed with insufficient counselors to cover educational sessions. They rated the effectiveness of treatment three out of five stars.

The two former clients who awarded five stars for the effectiveness of treatment highlighted counselors as a facility strength. “Very friendly and relatable. They really want to help you,” one wrote.

Similarly, two alumni rated such specific aspects of treatment as counseling options and dual diagnosis treatment highly, while the third selected a moderate three stars.
