ABOUT HEALTHWORKS

Formerly known as Cheyenne Health and Wellness Center, HealthWorks is a community-based, 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to serving residents of Cheyenne, Wyo., and its surrounding areas. One of 36 private nonprofits in the state, HealthWorks serves its clients through four main areas of service: medical, dental, pharmaceutical, and behavioral health. Services are available in both English and Spanish.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

HealthWorks offers a range of behavioral and mental health treatment services. Before beginning treatment, clients may participate in an initial substance use and/or psychiatric assessment to help clinicians form an individualized treatment plan. HealthWorks facilitates both individual and group counseling sessions.

Along with substance use-focused counseling, the facility also addresses parenting, couples, and family issues, depression and anxiety, stress and anger management, healing from trauma and abuse, and improving coping skills.

In addition to counseling, HealthWorks also facilitates medication-assisted treatment (MAT). Typically, MAT is utilized to treat opioid dependency through a regimen of addiction medications, which help to minimize the discomfort of opioid withdrawal and curb cravings. Clients who participate in MAT may be required to also attend regular counseling sessions.

Other areas of service include women’s health, adult wellness care, dental fillings and cleanings, chronic disease management, immunizations, and case management.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

HealthWorks' behavioral health services are provided by a team of licensed counselors and social workers. Clients work with staff on a one-on-one basis, who link them to any needed services.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

Rehabs.com has not yet received any reviews from this facility’s alumni, though former clients writing in across secondary sources provided mixed feedback. Many described them as helpful, friendly, and accommodating, while others found staff to be rude and unprofessional. It should be noted that HealthWorks has the ability to manage its Facebook reviews.

WHAT STAFF SAY

The sole member gave polled by Rehabs.com to date gave mixed opinions concerning the facility. Although the employee gave a five out of five-star rating for the facility's treatment effectiveness, they offered only one-star ratings for its counseling options, the staff’s level of training and experience, and the amount of family participation.
