Residents are taken to a nearby YMCA to exercise, and are also treated to recreational activities such as skiing, ice skating, and tubing.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The two alumni polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing offered opposing opinions of Koinonia. One gave the rehab positive feedback, awarding it four or five out of five stars for its cleanliness, its treatment of co-occurring disorders, its exercise and leisure offerings, and its staff's level of training and experience. The reviewer also noted that staff members were in recovery, and praised the facility for it's alumni involvement, which they reported involved "taking clients out into community to involve clients in sober/clean fun in recovery."</p> <p>The other alum, an 18-to-25-year-old with co-occurring disorders, gave the rehab just two out of five stars for its staff support, the overall quality of its lead counselor, the overall frequency and consistency of its meetings, and the overall quality of its groups and meetings. "Low quality, impersonal, belittling treatment program," they wrote.</p> <p>Koinonia earned an average rating of <strong>3.2 out of five stars</strong> based on nine Google reviews<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small>, and a <strong>five out of five star rating</strong> based on the opinions of 10 individuals on Facebook<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-2"><sup>[2]</sup></a></small>, which the facility may manage. Across both sites, the majority of alumni who left comments described the program as effective and helpful. "I love Koinonia. It changed my life," Shane wrote in a representative review on Google. "The clinicians and staff there are amazing people... They give you all the tools and support necessary to change your life."</p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>The four loved ones polled by Rehabs.com to date gave Koinonia <strong>mostly positive feedback</strong>. The facility does indicate that it accepts many different types of health insurance. Medicaid is not accepted, but the facility recommends American Healthcare Lending as a way of financing treatment.
