Before admission, clients must undergo a physical exam and must complete an initial intake history assessment. Most Quality Addiction Management facilities are open from 6 AM to 2:30 PM Monday through Friday and from 7 AM to 10 AM on Saturdays. </p> <p>The facility’s treatment program centers on the use of <strong>methadone</strong> to eliminate cravings and physical withdrawal symptoms. Methadone is a synthetic opiate that is administered orally each day and distribution is supervised by medical doctors. According to the QAM website, methadone treatment may cause mild, easily managed side effects. In addition to receiving prescribed methadone, clients also participate in <strong>individual and group therapy, treatment planning, health counseling, a yearly physical exam, and urine drug testing</strong>. </p> <p>Treatment is intended to keep clients as comfortable as possible while facilitating recovery, eliminating cravings and drug use, and improving life functioning such as employment, family relationships, physical and emotional health.
