<p><strong>ABOUT AURORA BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CENTER</strong></p> <p>Aurora Behavioral Health Center, located in Kenosha, Wis., is part of Aurora Health Care, <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/WI16.pdf" target="_blank">one of Wisconsin’s 121 <strong>private, non-profit providers</strong></a>. In addition to providing programming for individuals seeking treatment for <strong>substance abuse</strong>, the facility serves clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, mental illness, and other <strong>emotional, behavioral, and <a href="https://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring disorders</a></strong>. Treatment at the center is offered on an <strong>outpatient basis only</strong>, and the facility is open during standard business hours. Detox is not available.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Aurora uses a <strong>disease model approach</strong> to treatment, recognizing that substance abuse has multiple underlying factors that need to be treated. All treatment plans are customized to address each patient’s unique needs. Therefore, all new clients receive a <strong>comprehensive medical and psychiatric assessment</strong> before beginning treatment. Based on assessment findings and the client’s goals, a combination of counseling, education, and referral services is recommended.</p> <p>In addition to substance abuse treatment, Aurora offers treatment for many <a href="https://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring disorders</a>. These include anxiety, depression, and eating disorders. Other behavioral health disorder such as ADHD and adolescent behavior disorders can be treated using specialized treatment processes. </p> <p>The treatment practices at Aurora focus on counseling as a primary means of addressing concerns. A range of counseling methods are available and are applied based on the needs of each patient. <strong>Medication management</strong> may also be available, as indicated.</p> <p><strong>Family reconciliation through counseling</strong> is encouraged during treatment. Family counseling and participation in treatment methods is possible, and counselors work with family remembers to resolve group issues so that clients have a stronger support network after treatment. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Aurora’s treatment team includes psychologists, psychiatrists, and psychotherapists. The facility also benefits from volunteers willing to help out with operations and treatments. </p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The one alum polled by Rehabs.com to date had a generally positive opinion of the facility. The anonymous alum gave the facility five out of five stars for treatment effectiveness and its accommodations. Although offering moderate four-star ratings for the facility's discharge planning and its ability to treat co-occurring disorders, the loved one gave a one-star rating for the level of family participation. "Friendly staff but it was small," the loved one wrote. </p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>Aurora accepts <strong>private insurance plans and Medicare</strong>. The private insurance providers that are accepted include Aetna, Cigna, and Humana. Additionally, <strong>financial assistance is available</strong> through Helping Hand, a program designed to assist those who do not have insurance or the financial means to pay for their medical care.</p> <p><strong>CONCLUSION</strong></p> <p>In 2017, Aurora Health Care planned to merge with <a href="https://journaltimes.com/business/local/aurora-health-care-advocate-health-care-to-merge/article_78ca4dd8-46af-543b-ae4a-34ed2030c3b0.html" target="_blank">Advocate Health Care</a>. These organizations have worked together for more than 20 years to provide associated services to clients. Both organizations own ACL Laboratories.
