<p><strong>ABOUT NORTHWOOD HEALTH SYSTEMS IN WHEELING, WV</strong></p> <p>Located in Wheeling, W. Va., Northwood Health Systems is <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/WV17.pdf" target="_blank">one of the 12 (11.8 percent) of West Virginia treatment facilities</a> to offer inpatient detox. Along with detox, the center provides <strong>outpatient treatment and intensive outpatient programs</strong> to individuals who are struggling with mental health disorders and substance abuse. </p> <p>Northwood Health Systems has three other primary clinic locations in Weirton, New Martinsville, and <a href="https://www.rehabs.com/listings/northwood-health-systems-inc-2582337552/" target="_blank">Moundsville</a>, W.Va. Residential services are offered at other locations. </p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>According to Northwood Health Systems' website, its mission is to provide <strong>cost-effective, quality care to assist clients in achieving their highest possible quality of life</strong>. </p> <p>The first step of treatment is typically detox. <strong>Clients in detox are placed in the center's crisis stabilization units</strong>, which are staffed 24/7. Programming includes daily psychiatrists visits, along with intensive group and individual therapy sessions. </p> <p>Following detoxification, clients are encouraged to continue treatment. The treatment team provides counseling to children, teens, adults, and senior citizens. Clients may participate in individual, group, and <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/the-pain-of-addiction-in-the-family-how-counseling-can-help/" target="_blank">family therapy</a> sessions. </p> <p>Clients in the IOP benefit from <strong>individual and group counseling several days per week</strong>. The treatment facility is <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/WV17.pdf" target="_blank">one of the 9 (0.7 percent) of West Virginia treatment facilities</a> to offer an Opioid treatment program. Northwood offer medication-assisted treatment along with counseling and therapy to help treat addiction. Individuals may receive <strong>Buprenorphine (Suboxone)</strong> and <strong>Naltrexone (Vivitrol)</strong> when appropriate. </p> <p>The facility also offers a <a href="https://www.recovery.org/pro/articles/why-do-people-drink-and-drive-the-answers-are-pretty-jarring/" target="_blank">DUI Training</a> Program for individuals who have received a DUI citation. This six week program meets once a week for three hours. Northwood Health Systems offers transportation to and from outpatient appointments. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>Northwood Health Systems' website notes the treatment team includes psychiatrist, physician extender, nurses, therapists, social workers, and addiction specialists. The two people surveyed by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave four and five out of five stars for the staff's level of training and experience. </p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The alum polled by Rehabs.com to date gave mostly positive feedback for Northwood Health Systems, and indicated they would recommend it to others. They gave four out of five stars for counseling options, family participation, and when asked if treatment was worth the cost. </p> <p>They felt that a strength of the facility was that they “help people with addictions.” When asked about weaknesses of the facility, the reviewer said they could not think of any. “My fiancé received treatment there and they helped him deal with the withdrawals,” they added. </p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>There is currently no information provided by the facility regarding the cost of detoxification or outpatient treatment. However, Northwood Health Systems accepts insurance including Medicaid.
