Va., Thomas Memorial Hospital’s Behavioral Health Connection <strong>offers inpatient, partial hospitalization (PHP), and outpatient (OP) treatment for adults and older adults with <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">mental health and substance abuse issues</a></strong>. The facility does not offer detox.</p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Thomas Memorial accepts referrals 24 hours a day from <strong>physicians, mental health professionals, community agencies, judicial systems, businesses, clergy, schools,</strong> families, friends and individuals. <strong>Psychiatric services</strong> are offered.</p> <p>Length of stay in the inpatient program averages <strong>28 days</strong>. Clients first receive an <strong>initial evaluation</strong> from an addictionologist or psychiatrist. Clients develop <strong>individualized treatment plans</strong> with therapists, and enroll in <strong>daily 12-step meetings</strong>. Other services include <strong>addiction education, coping skills training, and temporary sponsorship</strong>.</p> <p>Families participate in <strong>family education</strong> prior to Sunday visitation. Four reviewers polled by Rehabs.com to date rated Thomas Memorial's accommodations and amenities and average three out of five stars and its meals and nutrition an average 2.75 stars.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>One alum polled by Rehabs.com to date gave Thomas Memorial <strong>mostly positive ratings</strong>. Alum Deborah rated the facility's affordability, cleanliness, and treatment of co-occurring disorders highest at a perfect five stars. They rated its holistic treatment offerings only one star, however. In comments, the alum complained about the facility's accommodations and group therapy but praised staff's compassion and medication practices. She wrote: "Doctors knew titration meds, not cold turkey. Nurses willing 2 help u with anything.
