<p><strong>ABOUT THE CENTER FOR ALCOHOL & DRUG TREATMENT</strong></p> <p>Located in the scenic community of Wenatchee in central Washington, the Center for Alcohol &amp; Drug Treatment provides a continuum of care for individuals struggling with <strong>substance abuse and <a href="http://www.recovery.org/topics/dual-diagnosis-recovery/" target="_blank">co-occurring disorders</a></strong>. Services include non-medical withdrawal management and <strong>inpatient treatment</strong> for adults, as well as <strong>outpatient treatment</strong> for adults, youth, and families. Additionally, all <strong>outpatient services are available in Spanish</strong>. </p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>The Center for Alcohol &amp; Drug Treatment’s programming is guided by the <a href="http://www.wglasser.com/the-glasser-approach/choice-theory" target="_blank"><strong>Choice Theory</strong></a> and uses <strong>cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)</strong> to help clients learn to make healthier, more productive choices. The center promotes thinking in terms of the present, avoiding blaming or criticizing others, and accepting responsibility for one’s behavior.</p> <p>To be eligible for the center’s inpatient program, clients <strong>must be sober for at least 72 hours</strong>; urine screenings are conducted upon admission. While the facility does not offer medical detoxification services, clients may access support through its <strong>withdrawal management program</strong>, which is staffed by chemical dependency professionals. Once enrolled, clients participate in a mix of <strong>individual and group counseling sessions</strong> and attend educational presentations on substance abuse. According to the program’s website, clients are encouraged to bring recovery literature, including 12-step publications and religious texts, with them to treatment. </p> <p>Outpatient treatment, <strong>offered at standard and intensive levels</strong>, may be used as a stand-alone or step-down treatment option. Available for <strong>adults, youth, and families</strong>, outpatient treatment includes individual therapy, process groups, educational workshops, and relapse prevention training. The center also runs a support group for families of clients. </p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>According to its website, The Center for Alcohol &amp; Drug Treatment employs a team of chemical dependency counselors who have been trained and certified through The William Glasser Institute, the founding school of Choice Theory.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>According to The Center for Alcohol &amp; Drug Treatment’s welcome packet, clients <strong>may bring iPods and MP3 players</strong> to treatment, provided the devices are equipped with personal headphones and are not WiFi-enabled. Clients are also encouraged to pack gym clothes and sneakers so that they can participate in the center’s <strong>on-site volleyball games and yoga classes</strong>.</p> <p>During the first seven days of treatment, residents undergo an orientation period during which visitors are not allowed. After that, they may receive visitors every Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.</p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>The five alumni polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this review submitted <strong>mostly positive feedback</strong> for The Center for Alcohol &amp; Drug Treatment. Each respondent noted that they would recommend the facility to others, and most offered specific praise for <strong>the program’s ability to address the root causes of their substance abuse</strong>. “They find the core to problems other than just addiction and help find resources… I was able to understand my behaviors, actions, thought and family role in my destructive addiction,” one anonymous alum wrote in a representative review. “Every counselor had experienced addiction, which made for realistic expectations and help,” K.J.F. told Rehabs.com. </p> <p>However, multiple reviewers complained about the center’s <strong>lack of exercise and leisure options</strong>. M.J.H. described the center’s extracurricular activities as “non existent,” and another anonymous alum told Rehabs.com, “If weather is pore than there are no exercise options.”</p> <p>On Google, 10 reviewers provided an average rating of <strong>2.8 out of five stars</strong>.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> Of the 10 reviewers, four provided commentary. Justin and Anecia, both five-star reviewers, praised the center’s ** “compassionate” and “caring” staff**. “I owe my life to the help of all of the staff there..quit a few times I was going to just up and leave because the drugs were gettting the best of me..however, they talked me through those hardships and here I am!!!” Anecia wrote. </p> <p>Fletcher and Connie, both of whom submitted one-star reviews, offered sharp criticism for the center’s lack of organization and the counselors’ approach to treatment. “Retaliation is used if they don't like you. No clear direction is given to succeed,” Connie wrote. </p> <p><strong>WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY</strong></p> <p>When asked how likely they were to recommend the facility to others, the one loved one polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing provided an average rating of three out of five stars. This respondent provided the facility with five-star ratings for its treatment effectiveness, its accommodations, and its meals, but submitted three stars in every other evaluated category, including the center’s affordability, its counseling options, and its holistic offerings. The loved one also cited the program’s one-on-one therapy and its use of Choice Theory as strengths of the program.</p> <p><strong>WHAT STAFF SAY</strong></p> <p>The one staff member polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing submitted a mixed review for The Center for Alcohol &amp; Drug Treatment. They gave the facility’s treatment effectiveness, its accommodations, and its meals ratings of one out of five stars. However, they submitted four-star ratings in a number of other categories, including the center’s connectivity, its cleanliness and maintenance, and its family participation.</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>According to its website, The Center for Alcohol &amp; Drug Treatment accepts most private insurance plans and Medicaid.
