<p><strong>ABOUT SUN RAY COURT - NEW HORIZON CARE CENTERS, INC.</strong></p> <p>Operated by New Horizon Care Center, Inc., Sun Ray Court is an urban facility set in a large red-brick building in central Spokane, Wash., a few blocks from the Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. The center offers <strong>long-term residential treatment as well as sober living arrangements for men.</strong> Detox services are not available onsite. </p> <p><strong>TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT</strong></p> <p>Treatment programming at Sun Ray Court follows a <strong>traditional model of treatment</strong>. It uses a combination of <strong>group therapy, individual counseling, and educational classes</strong> to address the mental, emotional, social, and physical consequences of addiction. Clients participate in educational classes and counseling a means to develop the skills needed to understand and address the underlying factors of their addiction. </p> <p>The process lasts <strong>30 days</strong>, making it one of <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/WA16.pdf" target="_blank">Washington’s 40 long-term residential treatment options</a> in a non-hospital setting. In addition, this program is also one of <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/WA16.pdf" target="_blank">Washington’s 151 men-focused treatment programs</a>. By focusing on the specific needs of men, Sun Ray Court is able to address issues that are commonly associated with men and chemical dependency, such as past trauma, problems with <strong>stress and anger management</strong>, and self-esteem.</p> <p>The center was conceived to serve a multi-ethnic, culturally diverse, and often <strong>low-income population</strong>. Specialized care is provided where possible for different needs groups. Special provisions for the hearing-impaired are available. <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/WA16.pdf" target="_blank">Only 38.1% of Washington facilities</a> have the ability to service hearing-impaired clients. Sun Ray Court is also one of <a href="https://wwwdasis.samhsa.gov/webt/state_data/WA16.pdf" target="_blank">255 facilities in the state</a> that provide educational tracks regarding <strong>HIV/AIDs education</strong>.</p> <p><strong>STAFF CREDENTIALS</strong></p> <p>The Staff at Sun Ray Court is comprised of counselors and support staff members. In some cases, volunteering behavioral health students may also help to facilitate programming. The two individuals surveyed by Rehabs.com to date, however, shared disparate experiences with the program staff: one gave five out of five stars for the level of staff support, while the other gave only one star.</p> <p><strong>ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES</strong></p> <p>While information is not currently available concerning the facility's accommodations and amenities, the two individuals polled by Rehabs.com to date each gave four out of five stars for the quality of meals, yet they were divided on the quality of accommodations. In addition, one alum gave five stars for the facility's cleanliness, while the other survey respondent gave this survey metric three stars. </p> <p><strong>WHAT ALUMNI SAY</strong></p> <p>Two alumni of New Horizon Care Centers, Inc. have been polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing. One anonymous reviewer gave five out of five stars for both treatment effectiveness and accommodations and wrote: “It was an overall good facility, but staff was not supportive.” Randall, the other reviewer, gave five out of five stars for treatment effectiveness and wrote how he “wanted to leave at first and in the end I wanted to stay longer.” Randall also awarding five-star ratings for the effectiveness of lead counselors, respect shown to clients, and the facility's ability to resolve conflict.</p> <p><strong>Secondary sources revealed highly positive feedback</strong>. On its unofficial Facebook page, New Horizon Care Centers Sunray Court earned three five out of five star ratings.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-1"><sup>[1]</sup></a></small> In the only written commentary, Bryant described the program as life-changing and effective, writing: “They help me more than any treatment center that I been to.”</p> <p>On Google, Sun Ray Court has an average rating of <strong>4.5 out of five stars</strong> from eight reviews to date.<small class="footnote"><a target="_blank" href="#footnote-2"><sup>[2]</sup></a></small> Alum Jacob wrote “SAVED MY LIFE”, while alum Craig added, “great person centered inpatient substance abuse facility.”</p> <p><strong>FINANCING</strong></p> <p>At Sun Ray Court, the majority of clients receive funding for treatment through the state using various community help programs, incurring <strong>no charge for treatment</strong>. Self-pay options are also accepted for clients who do not qualify for state assistance. Private insurance may also be accepted, but treatment priority is given to state-funded clients. </p> <p><strong>CONCLUSION</strong></p> <p>Sun Ray Court provides methods for clients to reconnect with the organization and other clients that they met in treatment.
