What reviewers said

Reviewers frequently praised the counseling staff, structured 12-step programming, and the facility's effectiveness in helping them achieve sobriety. However, others criticized the quality of the food, a perceived lack of individualized care, and an environment that felt overly punitive or focused on education rather than healing. Some family members also reported feeling excluded from the recovery process.

The treatment modalities used are evidence-based and include emotional interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in the form of group and individual counseling, psycho-education, and case management. It is available on an urgent basis for clients who do not need clinical services. An assessment is part of the discharge process.

Detox for clients who are not in need of medically-managed services lasts approximately five to 14 days and the residential program's length of stay is 15 to 180 days with five to 20 hours a week of programming. It includes 24-hour support and focuses on developing skills to manage symptoms. The intensive outpatient program (IOP) can last from three months to a year. Treatment takes five to 20 hours a week and is available as a day or night program.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The treatment team includes chemical dependency professionals, licensed medical practitioners, and advanced registered nurse practitioners.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Throughout the three residential facilities offered by ABHS, there are 60 supervised beds for detox available.
