ABOUT THE RECOVERY VILLAGE AT RIDGEFIELD

Located about 20 minutes north of Vancouver, Wash., The Recovery Village at Ridgefield (TRV) is one of the state's 51 residential facilities. Intimate, 12-step based recovery treatment is available in residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), or intensive outpatient (IOP) programs. TRV also services individuals with co-occurring mental health disorders, which only 30.1% of facilities in Washington state are equipped to do. Detox is also available on-site.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The residential treatment program primarily consists of individual and group therapy sessions in an intimate, structured setting. While in treatment, clients are given the opportunity to practice their newly-developed stress and anger management coping skills with one another. Clients also have access to holistic and alternative classes and activities including recreational therapy, yoga, meditation, exercise, as well as music, dance, and art therapy.

The PHP track is designed for adults who still require daily, intensive treatment, yet at a lower level of supervision. Here, clients participate for 18 to 20 hours weekly and receive an introductory education to 12-step principles. They also partake in therapy sessions designed to address issues such as substance abuse, sexuality, and trauma survival. On a weekly basis, PHP clients meet with an assigned physician to discuss and review progress made vis-à-vis treatment goals.

Lastly, clients transitioning from either residential or PHP care may benefit from IOP sessions, which involve nine to 11 hours of weekly programming. Clients receive medication management as well as similar treatments to those received in residential and PHP.

Length of treatment is determined by treatment staff and insurance providers but typically lasts about one month. Aftercare plans may include sober living arrangements, in which clients are assigned house responsibilities. Successful graduates are also supported when looking for work or going back to school.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The facility’s treatment team consists of doctors, nurses, psychiatrists, counselors, and therapists. According to its website, TRV is a “program for addicts designed by recovering addicts.” The program also maintains that it keeps a low client-to-staff ratio.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Up to 64 clients are housed in the facility’s luxurious, gender-specific, hotel-like rooms that feature plush beds, a private bathroom, and natural sunlight. This is quite high, given that residential (non-hospital) facilities had a median of 18 clients in 2016.

The outdoors-bound can spend time in scenic indoor and outdoor communal spaces. A chef and nutritionist team work together to provide clients with healthy meals.

WHAT FAMILY & FRIENDS SAY

While Rehabs.com has not yet received any feedback from this facility’s former clients or their loved ones, reviewers who posted elsewhere online mostly reported positive experiences.

On Google, the facility has earned 4.6 out of five stars based on 19 ratings to date.[1] Carrie thought treatment was “Exceptional,” and K.C., the mother of a client, expressed satisfaction with how "everyone I talked to was so kind and genuine and took the extra time to talk to me."

The facility’s Facebook page, which it can manage, has 18 ratings and a 3.9 star-average.[2] Several five-star reviewers praised the staff for being accommodating, attentive, and kind. Another user enjoyed the accommodations, posting, "I loved the cottages this facility had to offer patients as they transition to lower levels of care." Those who left negative comments were dissatisfied with customer service and the way insurance was handled. One disgruntled user wrote, "they will lie to you over and over again about how much it will really cost in the end."

WHAT STAFF SAY

The sole review received by Rehabs.com to date seems to be from a current employee who wrote, "Incredibly grateful to be a part of something so wonderful." This individual gave treatment effectiveness, accommodations & amenities, and meals & nutrition all five out of five stars, and commented "Phenomenal programs."

Elsewhere online, professionals in the behavioral health field - who may or may not have been employed by TRV - posted positive experiences with this facility as well. User B.W. commented on Google, "I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff, clinical programming, and comfortable living quarters" and W.H. felt the facility "offers a great Co-occuring Disorder Residential treatment center."[1]

Five-star reviewer E.S. wrote, "I work with people that are looking for the right place to go to inpatient treatment. Recovery Village has ALWAYS made the process quick and easy for the people I refer to them."

FINANCING

Treatment costs $25,000 per month. TRV accepts most major insurance plans such as Aetna, Humana, UnitedHealth Group, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Cigna. The facility's website also mentions a few different scholarships available for clients who pay out of pocket.

[1] https://goo.gl/NFS9aJ
[2] https://www.facebook.com/pg/trvridgefield/reviews/?ref=page_internal
